New Max: Deadlifting 170lbs!

Today was another rainy, dreary day in Fort Lauderdale.

After work my boyfriend and I went to our favorite chinese food restaurant and I had a large helping of chicken, broccoli and brown rice. After dinner the last thing I wanted to do was go to the gym, but my boyfriend motivated me to get down there somehow.

My workout:

  • Deadlifts – 170lbs (new max)
  • Bench Press – 80lbs (new max)
  • Bent Over Rows – 30lbs (new max)
  • Pull Downs – 80lbs

For not wanting to go to the gym I ended up having a great night.  Major props to my boyfriend for pushing me not only to go, but to work hard!

I was surprised that I was able to pump out five reps at 170lbs deadlifting. Last week 160lbs felt like a killer!

I also hit a new max on the bench press (last week I did 60lbs) and bent over rows (last week I did 25lbs).

Tomorrow is a running day. I am 100% committed to getting up early and running down to the beach before it gets too hot out.

I’ve never gotten up for an early morning run on a non-race day, so this shall be interesting! I figure since it’s a Saturday I’ll be able to motivate myself by thinking, “I can always get back into bed when I’m done!” haha. I’ll report back tomorrow!
