5 Miles + A Coupon You Might Like

I ran 5 miles yesterday – the most since the half marathon!

Since I’m not currently training for anything specific I did something I always think about doing. At the half way point instead of turning around and heading back home, I paused my Garmin and sat in the sand and watched the waves for a few mins. It was pretty awesome.

I forgot to tell you, on Friday night we went to Outback because I found a $6 off coupon. It’s good until 11/30 in case you are interested and have an Outback near you:

We each got a 6oz steak + soup + a side (he had a sweet potato, I had mashed potatoes). This came out to only like $21. With the $6 coupon we got two steak dinners for $16!

I’m not a couponing kind of person (I’m too lazy) but when a good coupon falls into my lap I’ll use it : )

How we ever lived a full year as vegetarians still blows my mind. A part of me wants to go back and do it again, but deep down I know I looooove chicken, turkey and steak a little too much to do it for life.

I hope you got in some good runs this weekend and also enjoyed good food! I am personally already looking forward to Thanksgiving dinner!

-I’m not a Pumpkin Pie kind of girl, but I am looking forward to Pecan Pie and Chocolate Pudding Pie (<— my request to my mom)!

    Yay for running on the beach (so jealous!). Awesome deal at Outback, thanks for sharing. I,too, was vegetarian for years and the idea of meat disgusted me. I have no idea what happened but now its like I need it (I think it has something to do with running and needing large amounts of protein 🙂

      Yes! Exactly. Sometimes I just absolutely CRAVE meet. I call it The Meat Hunger. My brain actually feels fuzzy and has a dull ache until I fulfill the craving!

    Mmm Outback! I am a little over steak, but I couldn’t go veg again because I’m too addicted to burgers, chicken, and fish.

    My fav dessert is chocolate pecan pie. My mom makes it from scratch and it is fricking amazing. I love pumpkin pie, but I’m a chocolate girl at heart.

    I too am very jeakous of your running on the beach action! Miss being by the ocean.

    Never been a big fan of meat until recently hey – Amy, think you’re right – it’s the protein factor hey. There’s only so many eggs and egg whites you can eat hey. 🙂

    Hmm, being a pommie and Aussie, we don’t usually celebrate Thanksgiving, but maybe maybe our American expat friends will be doing something for dinner over here? (i.e. cooking it I hope?). I am a pumpkin pie virgin. But I hope to rectify that soon – it always looks delicious in photos! 🙂

      I don’t think you’re missing out on anything with Pumpkin pie, personally : ) But Thanksgiving is great for all of the other side dishes. What other day do you get to eat sweet potato casserole and green bean casserole at the same time?! YUM! I hope you get to enjoy a thanksgiving dinner this year!

    I have been vegetarian for about 20 years now – it’s not for everyone. It’s sure easier to get your protein in if you love meat 🙂
    I love just enjoying a run like that! It’s easy to get caught up feeling like you have to push, I am so guilty of that!

      When I was a vegetarian I didn’t really even crave meat, but now that I’m eating it again I can’t seem to stop. That is cool that you’ve been a vegetarian for 20 years! My best friend has been vegetarian for about 5 years and just went vegan. I am looking forward to her cooking up some good vegan meals ; )
