5 Things On My Mind This Friday!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!!  I hope you’re getting ready for a fun weekend! Today’s post is thinking out loud style!

1. I feel thirsty all the time.

This is not Cecil, but the kitty is still cute :)

This is not Cecil, but the kitty is still cute 🙂

This past week I have felt really thirsty 24/7. I wake up in the middle of the night and have to drink a full cup of water. I drink water all day at work (and consequently I pee all day at work). I drink like crazy before and after going running.

But still I am thirsty.

I think running in this heat/humidity is really taking more out of me than I thought, but I also don’t think I can possibly drink any more! Hmph!

2. Today is the start of Dolphins training camp!

Football fans know this has been an exciting week in the NFL because training camps around the league are starting! Today is the first day of camp for my Dolphins!

Adam and I are heading over to their training facility tomorrow to watch. I can’t wait! We go every year to one or two of their open practices and it’s one of my favorite things to do in July!

Fins up!!! (Cecil’s such a photo bomber)

3. Sports Lauderdale

Adam and I are thinking about starting a little podcast about sports called Sports Lauderdale (name is TBD really). We love arguing sports with each other and think it could be fun.

Our dads said they would listen : )

4. I am looking forward to my long run tomorrow!

No big surprise here!

To every one who said you might try the fast finish miles during a long run, if you try it this weekend I hope you like it! While you’re pushing out that last mile, know that I am with you in spirit! haha

5. The weirdest fortune cookie ever.

Here’s one I got just a couple days ago… it wins for the weirdest fortune I’ve ever received!

Have a great day!

Are you excited for your football team to get back to work?

Is all this summer running making you extra thirsty? Do you carry a bottle of water around all the time?

  1. July 25, 2014 / 8:59 am

that really is a strange fortune cookie! That is really fun that you guys go to open practices each year! I would love to do something like that, especially going to see the Red Sox PreSeason in Ft. Myers! That would be so fun! And I would listen to your podcast too! 😀

    • July 27, 2014 / 11:44 pm

If you come go to Ft Myers some day I would totally drive up to meet you!! 🙂

Adam and I recorded our first podcast this weekend, but it is not going to ever be heard by anyone lol. We’re calling it a practice episode! haha

  2. July 25, 2014 / 9:25 am

I had the same water problem yesterday. I just keep drinking. Yay for training camp. Sports Lauderdale would be awesome, I dot listen to many podcasts but I’d check that one out. Good luck on the long run. Wow that is a totally random fortune cookie.

My body seemed to finally balance out on Saturday night, thank goodness. Being constantly thirsty is so annoying. Plus, scary! I google’d “nonstop thirst” and apparently it’s a big indicator of diabetes. Being somewhat of a crazy person I had just about convinced myself I was diabetic by Saturday!

Yes, I find that I am always thirsty too…I know that weather must be pulling a lot out of you!
Looking forward to my 10k this weekend, scared and excited… 🙂

  4. July 25, 2014 / 10:14 am

Football season!!! YES! Last night my husband and I watched a recap of the Seahawks 2013 season and it got me really excited for September!! I love talking sports and football. I am pretty much a fanatic. Good luck on your long run tomorrow!

    • July 27, 2014 / 11:47 pm

Adam and I are football fanatics too!!!! I can’t wait to draft my fantasy football team next month! 🙂

    • July 27, 2014 / 11:48 pm

I just imagine someone being like, “okay, the last fortune I have to write because I go home for the weekend… I’ll just write something ridiculous and go!” 😀

  5. July 25, 2014 / 1:24 pm

I like to read the fortunes, too. That one is definitely super weird.

Maybe you need more electrolytes or something? If you’re drinking a lot but you’re still thirsty…I don’t know, is that how electrolyte loss works? Lol

    • July 27, 2014 / 11:49 pm

Haha, I don’t know either! I just google’d it and I don’t think the two are related, but who knows? Thankfully the thirst seems to have finally been quenched!

  6. July 25, 2014 / 3:15 pm

Geez is it almost time for football already? Where does the time go? I love fall as much as the next gal but I just don’t know if I’m ready for it yet….although I’d probably be a lot more ready if I lived in FL 🙂

    • July 27, 2014 / 11:50 pm

I’m not ready for full fledged fall / winter either. I mean, I am ready for the weather to cool down for a couple days, but I can’t even begin to wrap my head around the holidays yet!

GO PACKERS, I kind of love Aaron Rodgers 🙂 He’s definitely my celebrity crush!

  7. July 25, 2014 / 5:34 pm

Oh – fun that y’all go to training camp. I have never been a huge pro football (or any pro sports – just college) fan but 2 years ago I watched a lot of games because my twin brother was one of the replacement refs which was pretty cool.
I’m sure the increased thirst is because of the extreme heat and humidity – it has been brutal this week!!

    • July 27, 2014 / 11:51 pm

Oh, that’s so cool that he was a replacement ref! I know those poor guys took a beating from the media and fans, but I am sure refereeing is an incredibly difficult job!

  8. July 26, 2014 / 8:25 am

Oh my word that fortune!! That is hilarious and simply must be saved. I carry water around with me but I’m not always technically thirsty. Last night I had a margarita and boy was I craving some H2o for the rest of the night! Paul wants to start a fantasy football pod cast. He loooooooves FF. Like, he devotes hours to it a day. 🙂

    • July 27, 2014 / 11:53 pm

I did fantasy football for the first time last year, it is so much fun! I know you hate football, but it really IS fun! 🙂

My dad is CRAZY about FF. He manages 10 to 12 teams per year! He’s retired so I think he kind of considers it a full time seasonal job!

  9. July 27, 2014 / 4:39 am

I’m always thirsty too these days! That’s a pretty funny fortune…lol. What a clever name for a podcast!

    • July 27, 2014 / 11:55 pm

Thank you! Since we live in Fort Lauderdale we thought it was fitting 😀 It’s just too bad that all the teams play in Miami… except the Panthers (hockey), but no one cares too much about them around here. Kind of sad because I think it’s fun to go watch hockey games, but I bet they will take the team away from us at some point since fans hardly ever show up.

  10. July 28, 2014 / 5:14 am

Sports Lauderdale – awesome name! What a hilarious fortune! Hope the long run went well.

    • July 28, 2014 / 10:08 pm

It wasn’t the best long run ever, but it was good mental toughness training 🙂

  11. July 28, 2014 / 3:36 pm

ha! i am not even running much and I drink all day lol The dang heat 🙁 I love the podcast idea! I must confess that I have only watched 1 football game in my life…lol I am a Nascar fan, so I do understand the passion once can have for their fav team/driver 🙂

    • July 28, 2014 / 10:09 pm

I drink all day and pee all day. I feel like I spend a good 20 hours per day walking to and from the bathroom!
