5 Things Since We Last Spoke (I’m SORE)!
I hope you had a fun weekend ;). Today let’s catch up! Here are five things that have been going on with me since we last spoke:
1. GIRLS ONLY weekend!
Adam went out of town last Wednesday to visit his mom. While he was gone I had a fun girls weekend!
In particular Barbara decided to come down and we watched a bunch of chick flicks (classics like Two Weeks Notice and Sweet Home Alabama) and played tourist in Fort Lauderdale.
We vlogged all weekend (and of course Cecil vlogged too):
I can’t believe we went on a ghost tour, hahaha!

2. MIAMI Marathon Training Starts Sept. 26th.
I’ve decided to follow the Hal Higdon Intermediate marathon training plan for Miami. I’m going to put myself through a full marathon training cycle and that will begin on the 26th of this month. When the race finally rolls around I am going to be the most well prepared person at the starting line!

3. I’ve Said Goodbye to Hansons
Since I’m going with a Hal Higdon plan for Miami obviously I am done with Hansons. I don’t think it made me any faster, although it did make me a stronger runner. I’m no longer afraid of doing consistent weeks of 35-40 miles and I think that’s a good thing.
I’m sure Hansons works for a great many people, but I’m also sure other training philosophies work too. At the end of the day it’s all about finding what works best for each of us.
4. I’m SORE From Lifting!
Now that I’ve got a couple of weeks free from marathon training I’ve decreased my mileage and have started lifting more. I love being able to lift multiple times per week and to push myself doing it.
Last week I lifting 3X and crushed leg day! There’s nothing like being sore from an extra long run or some serious squats :).
5. I’m READY for the Week!
You know I’ve been really stressed out lately. After a fun long weekend I’m feeling more refreshed than I have been in a while. I’m ready to tackle this next week head on!
