A 10 Day Streak

Another post from my phone because Comcast continues to stink like Munster cheese.

It’s already Tuesday! YAY!

On Sunday night Adam locked our keys in the condo gym (the door automatically locks behind you)… We weren’t able to get them out yesterday, so no gym time.

It was probably for the best since my legs have been feeling kind of tired the last couple days.

I realized yesterday that it’s been 10 days since I’ve taken a full rest day. I’ve included plenty of cross training days over the last week and a half, but haven’t taken any real breaks.

The days highlighted in orange are days I have worked out so far this month.

Last night I didn’t take an off night, but I did keep it light with a workout video (30 day shred) and a yoga video (Runner’s World Essentials again …. Dancer’s Pose, I am .0000234% closer to being able to do you!).

This week I will only be running three days, and will have three cross training days plus one full rest day.

My coach put in 4 running days and 3 XT days but my legs are telling me I need to cut back a running day this week. Since I’m in a down month with regards to mileage anyway, I’m not too concerned.

This month and next are all about short distances and working on my pacing. As long as I get in a good speed work day and a long run day each week I will be happy with whatever happens the other days.

By the end of April I am shooting for a shiny new 5K PR. I kind of suck at aiming for a PR and achieving it … For me PRs almost always come when I least expect them, but I am really going to try hard this time.

I Β want to learn to focus my mind and push hard. I think those are two skills that can only benefit me come marathon training time. It’s so easy for me to just go light and zone out on a run, but it’s time to try something different! Gotta keep it spicy!

Other than work, running and working out I’ve been candle making like a crazy person (my candle shop)! Orders have really picked up in the last month — in fact they are pretty much back to the numbers I was seeing during the holidays! : ) : ) : )

    I’ve been wanting to try a Jillian Michael’s video! The only videos I have ever done are Tae Bo hehe. I love your cat calendar!

      30 Day Shred are the only videos I’ve ever done — they are pretty good! I don’t know how much the ab work benefits me, but I definitely work up a sweat!

    Keys locked in something, happens to all of us. Congrats on the 10 days in a row! My legs have been feeling a bit tired too, always try to monitor that real close so I dont injure myself.

    Longest streak – Gosh I have no idea, I only recently started tracking all my stuff and right now I make sure to take off 1 day a week. So I am going with 6 days lol.
    Workout Videos – Never use them.

      I used to lock my keys in my car ALL the time … I’m 27 years old and my mom still pays me to have AAA because she is worried that I’ll get stranded somewhere with my keys locked in the car, haha!

      Most definitely! I’ll be taking a full rest day this week where I sit with my legs up on the couch all night πŸ™‚

    I love workout videos – funny that you counted 30 day shred as a light workout – pretty rough!!!
    So, do you make the candles completely?

      Haha true, 30 Day Shed definitely gets me working up a sweat fast! It’s kinda light compared to running though. Or at least in my crazy mind it is! πŸ™‚

    I love that you haven’t had a rest day in so long! I need to check my calendar because I know I’ve been on a streak since break started, and now I’m itching to keep track!

      Getting in the habit of highlighting my workout days on the calendar has helped me keep track. Without doing that I probably wouldn’t have realized I was on a streak, I would have only thought about my running days.

    Our house has a front door with a touch number key code and it is fabulous! I hardly ever have to worry about keys anymore. Since I take the bus to work, I do not even carry my car keys half the time. Anyhow, I feel the pain of locked keys πŸ™ Hope they get back to you and you can enjoy the gym fully rested! I cannot wait to try my candle πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
