Last night I did three miles on the treadmill with a plank in between each mile. I was kind of dreading the run for some reason, but once I got going it turned into the best run I’ve had since the Princess Half!
For each mile I did 3 easy laps and then 1 hard lap, jumped off and did a plank and then hopped back on for another mile — all while watching the beginning of the Miami Heat game!
I think it was my best run in over a week because it was the perfect mix of easy/hard/fun/diverse. I’ll definitely be doing this one again. Adding in the one hard lap made it feel like a quality workout even though it didn’t take that long. It’s perfect for a weeknight when I’m hitting the gym late and am short on time!
And now, to celebrate making it to the middle of the week I want to do a giveaway for one of my new candles! The winner can choose any candle from the new collection:
- Clean Cotton Soy Candle
- Fresh Squeezed Lemonade Soy Candle
- Grapefruit & Mangosteen Soy Candle
- Magnolia Blossom Soy Candle
- Sweet Pea Soy Candle
The giveaway will run until Saturday and I will contact the winner on Sunday. I hope you enter! : )
I need to try a piank-between-miles workout. They sound really useful and like a good way to mix it up, but they also sound SO painful haha. I like to be done with a run once I stop!

It was a pretty good workout although if I am being honest planking just stinks. I don’t think I will ever like doing them!
This is a great giveaway! Thanks!
I did something similar on my spin bike this morning! It was spin-plank-spin-plank! I know you wanted to get in some core work and that was a sneaky way Miss Kristina!!!!

Love it! 🙂 Yep, sneaking the planks in to my run helped me get them in since I dislike them a lot! haha
I’ve been slacking on core work big time, so I really need to try that next run! Circuits really make workouts go way more quickly haha. The fast lap is also a good idea, maybe that’ll help me with speed work 🙂

Doing 3 easy laps and 1 hard lap is my favorite way to bump a run up a notch! Plus, it helps to make the treadmill miles feel more fun 🙂
I love those runs that start out rough or you are lazy to even get started then they just turn into fantastic runs.

ME TOO! You never regret the run when it’s over … but sometimes it’s still hard to get started! 🙂
Great work out! It does sound like a fun mix of a challenge 🙂 I love candles 🙂
