A little bit of this and that + 5K friday night run

I didn’t have a post for Friday because my off-day was actually on Thursday this week. (Normally my rest day is Fri.)

Plus, I spent all of Thurs. exhibiting at a conference for work.

I was standing from 8am until 5:15pm which taught me an interesting lesson. There are two types of soreness for legs, the kind you get from moving for long periods of time (aka running a long-distance race) and the kind you get from standing without moving for long periods of time.

Running is definitely preferable … to standing or sitting. But I did get to pick out a new office chair this week at work and that was kinda cool.

My team went down to Staples and sat in a bunch of chairs. We each got a $200 budget from our boss to find the perfect chair for our butts. I sat in every chair they had and wouldn’t you know that the very last one ended up being The One? So typical.

Last night I ran 5K and it felt great. It was just a very easy run since I have my long run today.

Overall I think I’ve had a good running week. I only cut one run short. On Tuesday I was supposed to do 4 miles and I only did 3. However, yesterday I had the choice between 2 – 3 miles and I did 3.1 so I think I kind of made up for it. Sort of.Β

Aaaaaand before I leave you I had to share this pic of Cecil who should be nicknamed Josey Grossy.

cat

Β He loves to hang out and sleep in Adam’s gym bag. This isn’t any ordinary gym bag, it’s the bag Adam takes to his MMA class and contains his smelly, sweaty gear.Β

Cecil likes to climb inside and can be frequently found sleeping in it. Crazy cat.

Happy running! How many miles are you planning for this weekend???

$200 for a chair!? SCORE! I should take a pic of my chair at work. It is old and brown from the 70s but it does swivel. Oh and it has cat hair on it but that’s MY fault hahaha!

Yes, I was so excited!!! I literally sat in every single chair making sure to find the right one πŸ™‚ I was lucky enough to work at a place once that got me a $800 chair (insanity) and this one feels almost exactly like it!

My office chair at home is fake leather so it doesn’t have any cat hair, but it has quite a few claw marks πŸ™‚

What is with pets and sweaty things??! That cracks me up!

When I was in college and we had rush week, we had to stand for hours in heels on carpet. WORST PAIN EVER. Running is MUCH preferable.

I have no idea! Cecil is just gross. He loves to stuff his head into my shoes too, which I am sure do not smell like roses!

Yesssss standing in heels is the worst pain ever. I used to work for a company that made us wear heels to conferences and my feet just wanted to run away after two days of standing in them!

Cecil is so cute! My cats steal dirtty laundry and drag it to their water bowl lol I guess they think they are helping me. I agree standing still is rough on the legs!

Hahaha that is too funny! When Cecil was a kitten he would drag my bras out of the laundry and bring them into the living room to show guests. I am SO GLAD he grew out of that!
