A Refreshing Weekend & An Exciting Week Coming Up

Happy Cinco de Mayo! I’m feeling so refreshed after a relaxing weekend!

Saturday it stormed out all day, so it was the perfect day for a long run and then compressing and watching lots of basketball with Adam:

Please excuse the cat hair on my socks!

I ended up doing my run on the treadmill since we had lots of rain, wind and a little bit of lightening. It wasn’t my best run ever, but I did feel really good about finally hitting double digits for the first time in a couple of weeks.

Sunday I didn’t have a run on my schedule, but you know when you get that itch and you justย have to? Yeah, it was like that! : )

I probably should have waited until the sun was down a little bit more, but I just couldn’t wait!

It was hot hot hot but it felt good to feel the sun on my skin, and there was a little leftover breeze from Saturday’s bad weather which was nice.

When I got home all I wanted was an ice cold smoothie: mango, pineapple, banana and vanilla greek yogurt.

So, so good.

All in all, I had a pretty great weekend, and I’m looking forward to the week coming up! At work we recently signed a client that I’m excited about from the sports world AND Adam and I are going to the Heat game on Tuesday night! LET’S GO HEAT!

Doing anything exciting this week/weekend?

Already get your mom a Mother’s Day gift? If so, what did you get?

– I’m looking for ideas!

  1. Megan @ Meg Go Run

I went out looking for Mother’s Day gifts but had no luck! I did get myself sandals, a dress, and new running shorts. Oops! Hey, I am a mom to 2 kitties!

You deserve those gifts from Christmas and Jelly ๐Ÿ™‚

I believe Cecil will be getting me the new Garmin 220 that I’ve been suddenly obsessing over this week.

Great basketball this weekend so good weekend to relax and watch. I know that itch to run, when you get it just get out and do it. Your smoothie looked awesome. HEAT GAME!!!! So jealous, take tons of pics as they beat the Nets.

We have race #3/4 this weekend, fun 10k. No I have not bought mothers day stuff, thanks for the reminder.

I will take so many pictures! No one in this league annoys me more than Paul Pierce. I’m not sure what my vendetta against him is, but he’s so annoying and always looks smug. I hope Ray knocks down 20 threes!

Ugh there is something about those ex Boston guys. I’m hoping LeBron dominates and we sweep them.

Sounds like a nice weekend – great job on that double digit run.
I actually just bought myself a gift today – a Garmin Forerunner 220. I didn’t really need a new one but I wanted to have one that would stay charged for my entire race on Saturday (50 miles) and this one should do it!!!

Awesome, you deserve it for all the hard work you’ve put into training for this race! I am seriously so excited for you and cannot wait to hear how it goes! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Ali @ Hit the Ground Running

I have a love-hate relationship with those kinds of NEED TO RUN! days. Because if I’m running at noon because I just wanted to sooo badly, I’m totally miserable on the run and wondering why I didn’t wait just 6 more hours lol. I’m glad you had a great one! It’s definitely summer now, huh? lol

Definitely summer. From now until November 1st I will be complaining about how hot it is, although deep down I must love it since I have no plans to move!

  5. Lou @ Running Through China

Glad you had a great weekend. Looked like perfect conditions for the run on Sunday! Although, maybe a little warm. Gotta love the sun after a rainy, stormy day though. That’s awesome – if you feel the urge, get out there and run (i.e. it doesn’t have to be part of a training plan), you’re an inspiration Kristina!

My mum’s back in England, where Mother’s Day has been and gone, but I got her a voucher for afternoon tea for two at any location across England. Just wish I could share it with her! Ohwell, maybe next year?

Nothing too exciting this week/weekend. Teaching, training, eating, sleeping. Haha, rock and roll yes?

Sounds like a great gift! I definitely want to have a proper British tea time (not sure what it’s called) where they offer lots of little foods and delicious tea when we head over this fall! ๐Ÿ™‚ We should meet up there someday!

  6. dawn @ running the dawn

i’ve been thinking about getting my mom one of those charm things for a braclet that she has. although there are so many to choose from…i might get overwhelmed ๐Ÿ™‚

way to run back-to-back on the weekend ๐Ÿ™‚ it’s not easy to get out there twice.

we had such nice weather on sunday it was amazing. it was definitely a must-run day here ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh, you just gave me a great idea! My mom has been saying that she’s thinking about a Pandora bracelet, I should get her one! ๐Ÿ™‚ THANK YOU!

You should get your mom a charm of a running shoe (if they have one) so that she can always be reminded of you, haha

  7. Amy

So glad you got to go for a run, even without it scheduled! And mango smoothies are a dream come true. Have fun at the Heat game!
