A Solid Weekend of Running & Fun!

Friday: 3 miles
Saturday: 11 miles
Sunday: 2 miles

Not a bad weekend of running, even though I very obviously skipped my 5K on Sunday morning. What happened? Nothing bad. Adam and I celebrated a birthday with family on Saturday night and then we stayed up way too late.

Treadmill run!

I know dedication to training is an important part of reaching goals. However, I feel like despite skipping the 5K I still got in a lot of quality miles this weekend. It’s all about finding balance, right?

I wanted to get in 12 miles on Saturday, but my new sports bra chafed me SO BAD in an area that I didn’t apply Body Glide and I just couldn’t take it any longer. The shower when I got home was PURE TORTURE. I threw the bra in the trash because it may be possessed by the devil. Why else would it cause so much pain?!

I’m really looking forward to this upcoming week. Wednesday night Adam and I are planning to go to the HEAT game and then this weekend I get to see my mom!

I hope all you moms out there had a great Mother’s Day. Cecil didn’t buy me anything because he doesn’t have a job, but he was extra snuggly!

Did you get in a long run this weekend? How did it go?

Happy Mother’s Day! I am sure those snuggles felt great. If I had been signed up for a 5k on Sunday, I would have skipped it too. We had a great party Saturday night plus we had snow on Sunday. In May. Forget it!

Snow?!?! Really?? Well after a nice toasty summer, you’ll be happy when that first snowfall comes in the winter 🙂

A little 5k in the big picture isn’t a big deal. Plus as you said, training/life balance is huge.

GO HEAT GO! need to win tonight so we are wrapping up the series at home on wed.

Agreed!! We need to get the W tonight so that Paul Pierce will stop talking all that nonsense!

I know the pain of getting into the shower after chaffing has occurred. Seriously, NOT FUN! Sorry about the new sports bra. I am going shopping in the next couple days for a new sports bra and will keep your horror story in mind. I did a 5-miler this weekend and my first run in a week after coming back from being sick. Felt great to run on fresh legs. 🙂

The sports bra is made by Adidas… it’s my first (and last) by them. I got it on clearance which should have clued me in!

Don’t feel bad about missing the 5k–you still got a lot of miles in! No long run for me this weekend. Spent Saturday getting ready for Mother’s Day and with kids’ activities (1 concert, 1 school musical), and yesterday we had 21 people over for a Mother’s Day BBQ, and church in the am…busy and fun.

You still got a lot of miles in – great weekend 🙂 That chafing hurts!! I have been there…now I even body glide up for a 3 mile treadmill run…just in case. I feel your pain.

I Body Glide up for every run over 3 miles, too! I just missed a spot where the seaming on the bra ate away at my skin. Yesterday Adam took a look and shrieked in horror, haha.

      Ouch.

I shouldn’t be, but I’m giggling at a devil-possessed bra. OUCH! I hope your chafing clears up quickly!!

Ouch about the bra! 🙁 The rest of your weekend sounded great though! Yep, balance and fitting in things (fun things!) other than training is important too. There’ll be other 5kms later on, or after your amarathon training, no worries.

Cecil is beautiful! I miss having a snuggly cat sometimes (although puppy does her best haha).
