Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope that you are all having a wonderful day, whether you are spending the day with your pet or a significant other.
Last night my everyday valentine ditched me to go to MMA class after work so I had to get in a lifting session alone. It was actually good for me to do this workout by myself because I’m used to Adam pushing me or telling me what I should do next.
My main lift of the day was bench press. I always log my lifts and was happy to not only see progress yesterday but also to FEEL it.
A few weeks ago I could barely do 4 reps @ 60lbs and last night I was able to do 10 reps @ 70lbs with good form. Before I could feel my elbows start to go out on higher reps when I would get tired. Last night I backed down on weight but really focused on my form and I’m pretty sure it was perfect or close to it.
I wish Adam was there to see it :). I like that we are working together again. Back in 2012 when I started lifting we always went to the gym together, and then when I started running our schedules got all out of whack.
Now that I’m running again our schedules are not totally synced anymore but we still do workout a couple days a week together. And I always make him watch me squat lol. I feel like if he doesn’t see it then it didn’t happen!
This is the Valentine’s Day card I got him:
This is our 13th Valentine’s Day together. Did I ever tell you that on our first Valentine’s Day together Adam’s car got stolen?
The police recovered it a couple days later but the car was gross inside. There were brown marks everywhere… that we hope were chocolate stains and not something more disgusting. There were also holes burned into the seats from cigarettes.
All of his belongings were stolen out of the car, even a box of old pictures and other personal artifacts. He had the box in his car because he was in the process of moving from Orlando back to South Florida. So sad that someone would steal something that they couldn’t even benefit from.
Even with that fiasco our first Valentine’s Day was special and obviously very memorable!
This is our 10th Valentine’s Day with Cecil :).
You know I couldn’t leave him out of this post!
I hope that you have a great day, whether you’re celebrating Valentine’s Day or not. I’ll be going for a run tonight and that makes my heart feel extra full!
What’s your special song with your partner?
Any big V-day plans?
