A Weekend in Orlando (visiting Harry Potter)!

Happy Monday! I hope your coffee cup is full and your day flies by.

Adam and I completed Part Two of his Birthday Month celebration over the weekend. We took a trip over to Islands of Adventure in Universal Studios and then went to an NXT show in the evening. Adam is a big fan of NXT, which is the WWE’s developmental league, and I don’t hate that the reining NXT champion is also an Armani model. (See? There’s something for everyone!)

We vlogged a little bit of our trip in the park while we were at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!

We walked all around Hogsmeade and took a ride through the castle, but because we arrived in Orlando really late due bad traffic we didn’t get to ride the Hogwarts Express over to Diagon Alley. Next time!

Last time I visited the Wizarding World of HP I failed to get myself a Chocolate Frog, but I remedied the situation this time around. I haven’t eaten my frog yet, but I did open the box to find I received a Rowena Ravenclaw card!

I love Honeydukes, the colorful walls and carefully arranged aisles of candy are exactly how I imagine the store should be!

Unfortunately it was too dark to vlog when we went inside the castle, but I was able to capture a couple of snaps.

The ride in the castle is by far my favorite ride EVER, and I love that there are so many interesting things to see as you’re waiting in line.

Our trip to Orlando came and went in a flash because we wanted to get home on Sunday in time to watch the Dolphins game (so glad we did!). EnjoyingΒ back-to-back weekends away from home was nice, but it’ll be good to get back into a normal routine this coming week.

I’m looking forward to getting back toΒ running regularlyΒ even if I am temporarily limited to short, easy runs. I can’t wait to start a new training plan again. I love a good schedule!

Enjoy your Monday!

Have you been to Harry Potter at Universal? What was your fave part?

As a fan, while you’re walking through the world you feel like you’re LIVING THE DREAM!

    Ravenclaw for the win!

I didn’t totally love the ride in the castle. I really wanted to love it, but those sorts of rides give me motion sickness, which kind of puts a damper on the rest of the day. Also the giant spiders freaked me out during the ride and in my attempt to get away from them I managed to slam my elbow into part of the seat and it ended up hurting for the rest of the day.

I can ride roller coasters with no issues though, so I loved the dragon challenge ride (and also Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom might be my favorite ride ever).

Oh no, I am really sorry that you got motion sickness. Adam gets really bad motion sickness but he took some new pill and it worked. All evening he kept saying, “you know what is the real magic? that i didn’t get motion sick!” πŸ˜€ I will have to find out the name for you when he wakes up!

It didn’t go at all and I didn’t run all weekend either. I hope to get in my first run this evening!

My family and I were just talking about Disney World an Universal Studios this morning – trying to decide at what age it would be best to take Axel for his first trip. I have been to Disneyland several times, but really want to go to Disney World, Epcot, Universal, etc. It would make for a fun family trip. It looks like the Harry Potter World was pretty awesome! Thanks for sharing your experience – something I am definitely adding to our list!

Hmmmm a friend of mine has been bringing her daughter to Disney World for a couple of years. When her daughter was 3-4ish she sort of had fun but was tentative around/afraid of the characters. At 5 years old she was really excited to meet her favorite princesses and is smiling in all of the pictures!

Epcot is my favorite as an adult, but I think a lot of kids find it to be “the boring park.” It’s educational and there’s interesting food + drinks, but very few rides compared to the other parks. I could see you and Justin bringing Axel to Epcot very soon! There’s enough where the two of you can have fun even if Axel doesn’t really know what’s going on yet – but there will still be opportunities to take pictures with Mickey, etc. πŸ™‚

I haven’t been to HP world since it first opened. I want to go back so badly and see the new additions. I got McGonagall’s wand while I was there last, and drank tons of butterbeer, and ate chocolate frogs! πŸ™‚
