After a hectic week last week, I had a REALLY great weekend! It was filled with all of my favorite things: Adam, Cecil, running, watching sports and lounging!
On Saturday mornings Adam plays racquetball while Cecil and I sleep in.
I always feel a little guilty that I’m still in bed while Adam’s getting ready to go do something productive, but I purposely switched my long runs to Sundays last year so I could sleep in … and I love it. The guilt only lasts as long as it takes for me to hear the front door close, and then I’m back to sleep!
I finally got up around 9:30, made some coffee + eggs and got ready for my first hill repeat workout on the treadmill!
^ Survival pic.
After that I took a minute to mentally prepare myself for Phase One of my “Women Shouldn’t Have to Ask Men to Pick Up Heavy Things” upper body workout: the dreaded assisted pull ups.
I used to save pull-ups for last because I dislike doing them so much, but because they are an area of weakness for me, I’ve bumped them up to exercise #1 in my upper body strength routine so I can do them when I’m feeling fresh.
Someday I won’t need the assist… someday.
After a solid workout it was time to get ready for the Kings vs. Heat game! Adam and I haven’t been to a Heat game all season, which is very unlike us, so I was really excited!
Unfortunately A LOT of our guys are nursing injuries right now, but D-Wade and our bench played awesome!
I was hoping to see our new guy Goran Dragic play, but he was out with a bruised back. That’s such a shame. He’s too
cute good of a player to sit on the bench with an injury.
The game was AWESOME! The Heat came back from a 16-point deficit and WON IN OVERTIME! It was the first time I’ve seen an OT game in person and it was really fun. My voice was all scratchy afterwards from cheering so much!
I took this pic ^ after the game when we were walking back to the car. I think it looks like a water color painting. Ohhh, so artsty! I’m basically a professional photographer 😉 .
^ Downtown Miami all lit up and looking gorgeous.
We didn’t get home from the game until around midnight, which is pretty late for us. Coupled with the time change, when my alarm went off on Sunday morning I was just like, oh noooooooo.
I got in my run though and then spent the rest of the afternoon on the couch watching Food Network and stretching my hip while Cecil destroyed my blinds.
He does what he wants and gets away with it because he’s so cute!
I love that baby cat.
As a reminder, TOMORROW is the last day to sign up for the virtual 5K/10K benefiting PAWS Chicago.
The final day to submit your race time is March 20th. I’ve already received a few race times and will post an update towards the end of this week.
Have a great Monday!
Most exciting part of your weekend? Reading your weekend stories will help me forget that it’s Monday! haha
