A1A Half Marathon Weekend is Here!
Yesterday I was casually browsing the Internet as I do from time and time and came across this picture of Cecil and I:
Thanks to whoever shot the pic, it turned out great. 😏
Seriously though, Rajah is the best Disney pet!
This weekend instead of sleeping in with my pet, I’ll be getting up early on Sunday for the A1A Half Marathon.
If I’m being honest, yesterday I thought about DNS’ing this race. After a couple of lackluster half marathons recently, my heart just doesn’t feel in it the way I have in previous years.
That being said, there are plenty of reasons to still do this race:
A.) I don’t want to lose out on the registration fee.
B.) I have to get in a long run, so I might as well get a medal too.
C.) I would have to wake up early anyway to go cheer on my friends so I might as well run!
D.) Once I’m crossing the finish line I’ll be glad I did it.
E.) Sunday is Valentine’s Day and I do love running at the beach!
I haven’t gotten great sleep this week which I think might be part of the reason I started thinking about DNSing yesterday morning. I’m sure after a good night’s rest I’ll be excited about running my favorite course again.
I got in a cold 5K on that course last night – it was 61*F! Brrr!
I’m enjoying every minute of this cold weather because I’m sure it’s going to go away at any second.
So, I mentioned the other day that I was trying a meal delivery service out this week. I LOVE the whole concept of pre-made meal delivery and the process is phenomenal. I wake up in the morning, check outside my door, and my pre-made meals are sitting there waiting for me in a hot/cold container.
The company I used this week was Deliver Lean and they have meals that meet all kinds of demands from gluten free to paleo and vegan. When you sign up for the program you just go on their website, log into your account and choose your meals from the 90+ options they make available each week.
I chose to have two meals per day delivered and my cost for 5 days was just under $150.
(This isn’t sponsored. I have no affiliation with Deliver Lean.)
The whole food delivery process is great but the food has been incredibly bland – almost like eating paper. The only meal I’ve had so far that was good was the chicken marsala with brown rice and asparagus.
Because the food is fairly flavorless and the cost is pretty high for the portion size, I’ve been pretty disappointed.
I won’t be renewing my subscription to Deliver Lean, but I am trying out another service that has come highly recommended to me. The food looks much tastier and the cost is slightly less. For 10 meals the price with delivery fee is about $120. I’ve got high hopes because I did like the fact that I didn’t have to do any meal prep this week. I just made my breakfast and the rest of the day was set out for me! I’ll let you know how it goes!
Have you ever used or thought about using a meal delivery service? If so, which one? Would love to hear your thoughts!
Any big plans for the weekend?!
