Adam’s New Car + I’m Where?

Hey there! Guess where I am? In Atlanta, Georgia! I flew in yesterday for work and vlogged the whole day:

I’m going to be here for a few days and I am planning to vlog as much as I can. I know I’ve been bad about daily postings lately, which is primarily because I have been so busy.  I haven’t had time to: take pics, resize them, jot down my thoughts in written form, etc.

Vlogging is a bit easier because the images and words are captured all at once and I just have to stitch the clips together. I hope that’s okay for now :).

My schedule is going to be changing in a major way soon but I can’t talk about all the details yet (mostly because I’m still working them out). I do plan to spill the beans soon though! 🙂

Speaking of major changes, yesterday Adam drove me to the airport in his NEW CAR!

It’s not new-new because Adam is incredibly financially savvy and would never buy a brand new car since they lose value so fast in the first few months. This is a 2015 VW Golf GTI with all the bells and whistles. I’m so happy for Adam because he has been talking about wanting this car model for years.

He deserves this upgrade too because he had his former car for 12 years! He literally bought that car not long after we started dating. I remember the day we picked it up. Saying goodbye to the car was a little nostalgic but I’m sure we’ll make a lot of memories in the new car too!

Looking forward to going for more drives in it when I get home!

What’s the longest you’ve ever had one car?
I’ve had my current car for 7.5 years!

What’s been the best part of your week so far?

Congrats on the new car!! I had my first car for 17 years. So this year we splurged and got 2 new cars! Well, we bought one and leased one. Its so nice to have 2 functional cars now!

17 years!!!! WOW! That’s incredible. You must have taken such good care of it for it to last that long!

I put so many miles on my car because of my commute that I’m starting to wonder if I should trade it in now while it still has a decent trade-in value. The decision is hard though because I still love my car and don’t want to upgrade yet!

I can’t wait to watch this but I have to wait until I’m home from work because Paul is sleeping and my headphones broke. I have never been to Atlanta but my cousins live there and want us to visit. Do you like it? DO all new cars get bows? I never got a bow! My car is 9 years old, but I’m going to drive it into the ground because it’s paid off and aint nobody got time for car payments! Like Adam, I did not buy brand new because I know it’s not worth it! It was really sad getting rid of my crappy old car and when I get rid of my Cobalt, I will be sad too. Cars start to feel like our homes!

My dad lived in Alpharetta, GA for a while so I’ve been to Atlanta a few times before. It’s like any major city I suppose. I do like that the weather is crisper and less humid. I used to love coming here for Christmas because it meant I got to have a cold Christmas which is how it’s supposed to be! At home it’s usually 85 degrees on Christmas 🙁

Adam paid his car in full so he won’t have car payments. We totally agree, ain’t no body got time for car payments. Although I know we’re lucky to be in a position where we can say things like that.

I have been wondering if I should trade my car in now while it still has decent trade-in value but at the same time I still love my car! When I bought new in 2010 it was the exact car with all the features I wanted. If I traded it in I would probably just get a newer model of the same thing.

Adam’s new car looks great. Congrats! My car is 5 years old, and it seems like I just got it. I used to get new cars every other year, but now I’ve really found what I like and I stick with it. No plans to replace mine any time soon!
You are really a “gal on the go” lately! I’m excited to hear about new job stuff 🙂 I was in Alpharetta a few years ago for some software training.

I hope you had a great time in Vegas!

That’s how I feel about my current car. I bought new but plan to keep it forever! 🙂

Omg, okay, watching now… Here are my random thoughts as I watch…
I wonder if I will someday have a big girl job where I get to FLY places.
Isn’t it called HOT-lanta? Is it really going to be cold enough for boots and a peacoat. (STOP MEGAN, LET HER BE EXCITED!!!!)
Yes, see, she knows what we’re thinking. Still. LET HER BE EXCITED!
Very cute balcony! How is it 67?? It’s colder there than it is here! It’s like Low 70s this week in PA. But very cold in the morning. I wore long sleeves a couple days.
I was wondering how you were going to get to Target. Duh, Uber! I have really small boobs so I would just tape my nipples down if that happened to me! Does your work pay for your dinner? Would they pay for your bras?????
How long were you in Atlanta for?

I love the real time responses!

-Hahahah yes some people call it Hotlanta, but it’s not nearly as hot as florida.
-It ended up being warm during the day, but inside the conference hall it was FREEZING. I literally wore my peacoat inside and took it off outside!
-LOL that’s so funny. I could definitely not do that!
-Yes, work reimburses me up to $20 for breakfast, up to $20 for lunch and up to $35 for dinner (but you have to use the allowance for food. you are only allowed to get 1 alcoholic beverage reimbursed with dinner, so if you skipped food and got 3 glasses of wine they wouldn’t give you $35 for all that wine haha).
