And the Survey Says

The other day Megan posted her answers to a fun little fitness survey. Today I’m jumping on the train and taking the survey too!

What do you eat for breakfast?Β 
I eat the same thing for breakfast every single day: two eggs sunny side up, two slices of toast and coffee with a splash of half & half.

How much water do you drink per day?
A LOT. I have a giant glass of water on my desk and refill it several times per day. I get up to pee more in one day than all of my coworkers combined.

What is your current favorite workout?
Running.Β Yes, even after all this time. Always.

What are your favorite healthy snacks?
Cantaloup and pineapple, but only if they are ripe. I also enjoy a good pico de gallo.

What do you usually eat for lunch?
I don’t really have a typical thing!

What is your favorite body part to strength train?
My brain! I also like doing squats because I’m trying to grow a booty. I’m several years deep now and there still isn’t much there, but any day now…

What are your “bad” food cravings?
I don’t crave bad food. I crave really good food, like Mexican!

Do you take vitamins or supplements?
I add protein powder to my smoothies and I take a B12 vitamin sometimes.

Do you eat fast food?
No, but I like fast casual, especially Chipotle and Salsa Fiesta!

Also I can’t lie, I really like coffee from McDonald’s. Just their plain coffee with a splash of cream. Mmm. I think it’s an association thing – when my mom drove me to school back in the day we would sometimes drive thru McDonald’s in the morning.

Who is your biggest supporter?
Adam, of course!

How often do you eat out?
Pretty frequently. Multiple times per week.

Do you have a gym membership?
Nope, but only because my apartment complex has the nicest gym ever and it’s never that busy. I’ve never seen anyone do curls in the squat rack.

How many hours of sleep do you get per night?
I usually go to bed at 12:30am and I wake up at 7:00am – that’s 6.5 hours. I should probably get more! I’m exhausted as I’m typing this up (on Wed night) because I stayed up until 2:30am on Tues. Whoops!

Do you have a cheat day?
Nope,Β if I did I’d have a lot of explaining to do during my weekly therapy visits.

Do you drink alcohol?
Not really. I have the occasional glass of Moscato but that’s really rare. Drinking alcohol makes me very sleepy which isn’t great in social situations.

Back in college Adam always knew I was really drunk if I was displaying signs of “Heavy Head Syndrome.” That’s what he called it when I would drink and then just lay my head against his chest or shoulder because I was so tired.

Do you have a workout buddy?
Adam used to be my workout buddy but now our gym schedules are different. Since he started working from home he likes to go during his lunch hour :(.

What is the best thing that has changed in your life since adapting to a healthy lifestyle?
Finding myself. I spent so many years wanting to be someone else and finally I’m (mostly) content with who I am.

What is the last healthy thing you did?

Gave Cecil a pet. Supposedly petting a cat is so calming that it can reduce stress. Mental health is just as important as physical health!

How many hours of sleep do you get per night?

    I need 8 hours of sleep to feel my best! Not sure how you can survive off 6.5! I’ve always preferred to workout alone, other than the occasional runs with Rob when we are traveling.

      I would love eight hours of sleep every night, but because I run after work and don’t usually get home until after 8pm I need the extra hours to eat dinner, spend time with Adam, catch up on shows/blogs/internet haha!

    I need 8-10 hours of sleep. Seriously. I get maybe 7 if I am lucky. I usually run alone, but I have Dave and my SIL on STRAVA and we comment daily on each others runs etc. and often Julie and I are doing the same training plan so I feel like I have training buddies. I have virtual training buddies.

      I love having virtual training buddies, it’s the best way to go!

      In the gym I miss having Adam a little bit just because he was the perfect spotter. Now I don’t push myself nearly as hard when it comes to weights!

    How do you stay up sooooo late!? Last night I went to bed at 9:30 and I was like, oh no, this is much too late, I should be in bed by now!

      I stay up late because I get home from running late … plus Adam is a night owl so if I went to bed any earlier I would never see him during the week! The sacrifices I make to be with this guy, jeez! πŸ˜‰

    I love sleeping. If I get less than 8 hours I get super cranky. Also I'm glad to know that the hour I spent half asleep on the couch snuggling Mitten last night has some mental health benefits. Cat lady life FTW!

      YAY I’m so glad you caught the reference πŸ™‚ I need to re-read the series as well. I usually do it every summer but I skipped this year since things were so hectic at work. The holiday break sounds like a great time to get in some quality reading!

      I’m definitely a solo runner. I love to put my earbuds in and get lost in my own thoughts. At the gym I sort of miss working out with Adam because he was a good spotter for me… but he did drive me crazy a little bit too πŸ™‚

    I’m with the others – how the heck do you stay up so late and thrive on so little sleep? I feel my best if I get about 9 hours, which sucks because it’s so unrealistic and there are just too many hours in a day. I wish I could be one of those people who only needs 6-7 hours but it is what it is, I guess!

    I’m 100% a solo runner/work-out-er. I just need to do my own thing.

      Hahahah I’m not sure I exactly thrive on no sleep, but I am definitely used to it. Honestly, it feels like a good amount of sleep for me. Back in grad school my schedule was so bad that on a good night I would get 5 hours of sleep so this feels like a luxury!

    I get sleepy when I drink, too!! So I rarely drink because I’m fun for about 30 minutes and then I’m asleep!
