Best Cruelty Free Cosmetics – An Updated List (+ Vlog)!

In 2016 I started making the transition to cruelty free makeup and now I’m pretty much all in!

I buy and love a mix of drugstore brandsΒ and higher end brands like NYX and Marc Jacobs. Today I want to talk aboutΒ the best cruelty free cosmetics I found during my last trip to Sephora and Ulta!

Over the last week or so I’ve been on a mission to find makeup that can hold up to the hot and humid conditions here in South Florida. I’m just so sick of my makeup sliding off after two hours (despite using a primer which should hold everything together).

This haul includes someΒ lower priced things like the Pacifica wipes and the NYX blotting sheets which are both under $10. However, the majority of items in this haul are pricedΒ between $25 and $30.

I’ve been using all of these items now for a few days so I feel like I can give a pretty good review — and as always I’ll keep you updated if my opinion changes!

Here is an easy list with links to all of the items I mentioned in the video – check em out :).

Laura Mercier Translucent Pressed Setting Powder

Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Primer

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

Marc Jacobs Le Marc Liquid Lip Cream

NARS All Day Luminous Foundation

Soap and Glory Righteous Butter

NYX Blotting Sheets

Pacifica Purify Coconut Water Wipes

Pacifica Sea Foam Complete Face Wash

If you have questions about any of the products mentioned just leave me a comment below! πŸ™‚

If you’re not into makeup, check out my StrideBox review!

In this video ^ I review a bunch of new-to-me running products and even taste test some fuel on the spot!

I hope you have a great day, talk again soon!

I think I already said this in a snap, but Sephora (and Ulta) will take returns/exchanges on used products. So if you do want to return the YSL lippie (and maybe buy another MJ one!) that is an option. But with that said, your returned item will just be thrown away. So if you will use the product and don’t want it contributing to a landfill…you could just keep it. If it bothers you to use it, return it and get something cruelty free.

I’ll be hitting Sephora this weekend with the hopes of picking up the MJ lippie in Slowburn. It looks like it will be a good my lips but better for me. Shush Blush is gorgeous on you!

Also adding the Pacifica wipes and their coconut micellar water to my shopping list.

Oh and for your powder issues: try giving the brush a swipe on your hand before putting it on your face. This will help eliminate excess powder. I saw this tip on the Sephora page for the loose powder, which I also hope to pick up this weekend.

Please stop enabling my makeup/skincare addiction (thankfully I’m already a member of the NARS concealer club, bullet dodged!).

PS: Although more expensive, a little goes a long way with mid-range/high-end foundation. I think I usually buy foundation like once a year. Honestly I usually get bored with a foundation before I run out. I have two partially used bottles right now and I’m going to force myself to finish the older one (Nov 2015, yes, ’15!) before I buy anything new.

Ahh yay, I’m glad you’re going to try the MJ lip cream, I think you will really like it! The cream is so smooth and not dehydrating AT ALL. It doesn’t have the staying power of those lipsticks that are dehydrating, but it does definitely last a long time and it fades nicely too.

The Pacifica wipes won’t disappoint! They smell amazing too!

This will be my first time using a high end foundation, but I am excited about it. I think you’re right that it will be well worth the investment!

Thanks Susan! πŸ˜€ I did receive a comment on the video from someone who said some of the products I mentioned are not cruelty free although she didn’t mention which ones. I researched all of these brands before I published this post, but I will deep dive a bit more this weekend and update this post if needed!

Sephora has my heart. But I gotta admit that Ulta offers very good deals that sometimes you cannot miss!

My current favorite makeup product is the Better Than Sex Mascara by Too Faced. My favorite Mascara of all times. I already have gone through two of them!!

I’ve been dying to try that Urban Decay spray. I seriously need something that helps me with this Miami weather.

I have heard SUCH good things about that mascara. I will need to check out it when I run out of my current one. I’m using the Shea Moisture one, which I really only bought because I thought the packaging was pretty — and it turned out to be awesome. It’s quickly become my favorite mascara – I love the wand!

The spray is really making a difference I think! It’s hard to tell right now when our heat and humidity is lower than normal, but so far it’s been awesome!
