Hey there! I’m super short on time right now but I just had to tell you that I had a huge BREAKTHROUGH run last night. It gave me confidence, happiness, peace and the absolute certainty that the surgeries worked.
I talk all about what happened here:
(BTW you can now go to KristinaVlogs.com to see all my vlogs.)
I haven’t been this happy or excited about running in a VERY LONG TIME!
Exertional compartment syndrome is a weird condition because surgery is the only real solution, but it doesn’t work for everyone, and you don’t even know 100% that you have it when you go in for the surgery.
Yes you have to take an invasive calf pressure test prior and if your numbers are high enough, like mine were, there is 99% chance you have Exertional Compartment Syndrome… however there is no test that can tell you for sure.
Going into the surgery my biggest fear was that I didn’t actually have compartment syndrome or that the surgery wouldn’t work for me. Last night I was able to accomplish the type of run that I couldn’t have done for MONTHS prior to surgery because my symptoms were so bad.
I have never felt more sure that I am cured and that the surgeries were a million percent worth it.
If you think you have Exertional Compartment Syndrome go see a sports doctor and find out if you’re a candidate for the pressure test. I ignored my symptoms and had terrible runs for maybe a year or more before I finally went and now I really wish I had not waited as long.
HAVE A GREAT DAY!
