Hey there! How was your weekend? You can see what Adam, Cecil and I got up to during my last weekend as a 31 year old:
Not included in the vlog but a big part of my weekend was running SEVEN MILES on Saturday! Literally S-E-V-E-N miles! Can you believe my long run is that long? I can’t believe I’m back to that already. I used to pride myself on always been in half marathon shape, and last year knowing I was losing all that fitness sucked.
I feel like once I get up to 10 miles I’ll know I can finish a half marathon again. I won’t be in racing shape but I’m getting there. Last week I had a really good, short tempo run where I was happy with my paces. I was about 10 seconds off of what my coach prescribed, but the last few weeks have been nuts weather wise.
We’ve had a pressure system sitting over us cranking up the humidity (as if the heat alone wasn’t enough). I follow a few other South Florida runners and everyone’s been struggling to hit their paces the last couple weeks so I know I’m not alone. What did we do before social media? I know it can be damaging in some ways but it can also make you feel less alone… it turns out I’m NOT the only person struggling, haha!
