Catching Up!

Guess who’s back? ME! I’ve finally kicked bronchitis to the curb and am feeling like myself again. I even went for a run on Sunday!

I left my Garmin at home since it’s been almost two weeks since my last run and I do still have a tiny little cough sometimes. Moving my legs felt great and I’m looking forward to getting back to training this week.

I was hoping that I would be able to take a down week when Adam and I go on vacation later this month, but since I just had two weeks off I don’t see that being possible anymore. I guess it’s good that after such a long break I am HIGHLY motivated to run!

I tend to get in good mileage on cruises anyway since there is a lot of downtime to fill when we’re not at a port. Plus Harmony has a really nice looking track that I am looking forward to logging some miles on!

I think the track is about half a mile (that’s about what it was when we went on Allure and Harmony is a sister ship to Allure). I sometimes get a little seasick running onboard so I tend to do my long run on the treadmill but otherwise I’ll probably stick to the track.

I’m counting down the days until I can put my auto responder email on at work :).

Aside from being happy about easing back into running my body felt totally wrecked from all the bad sleep I’ve gotten lately. This weekend I took a couple of naps on the couch with my favorite little boy. He will never miss participation in a good nap.

You remember when I was sick and said I bought myself a little something to feel better? Well I bought myself A LOT of cough drops… but even better I also placed an order with Mejuri.

I got their 360 Ring as well as their Olive Ring; the Olive Ring pairs so nicely with my Twist Ring (also from Mejuri). This is definitely my new favorite brand for affordable jewelry. I’m not sponsored by Mejuri in any way but if you use my affiliate link you’ll get $20 off your first order (and I’ll get $20 off my next order).

I love the way Mejuri packages come personalized. It feels like getting a special gift even though I am usually buying for myself!

Something else I’ll be buying for myself is a coffee to power through Monday :). I hope you have a great day!

Ive never run on a cruise ship because the last time I went on a cruise I was 14 and hadn’t started running yet! I bet its a strange feeling. Glad you were able to get in a run yesterday!!

It feels totally normal when you’re running in the same direction that the ship is moving. However, when the ship is doing in a different direction it feels so weird! I usually have to pick one thing to stare at to keep myself from running in zig zags. Running on the treadmill helps a lot because you can focus on the TV!

I know I already said it on insta, but I love that olive ring and it will be mine…if I ever finish my paper.

Write write write! That ring is almost yours! 🙂 Are you taking summer classes? If not then a break from school is almost yours too!

We will be going on a cruise with my family this summer, the UK! Very excited. Glad you are starting to feel better. I had walking pneumonia earlier this year, no beuno.

Ohhhh that will be so much fun! I really want to do a UK cruise at some point too — and I’d love to do a french riviera cruise as well! I really just want to go back to England/France period haha!

I’m glad you are feeling better! Cat naps can cure anything. I bet it would be so fun to run on a track around a ship. 🙂 I do not buy high quality affordable jewelry, I just buy straight up costume stuff because I’m afraid I’ll lose it! If I ever spend more than 10 bucks on something, it’s a piece of jewelry I found at a craft show or something like that. Something handmade.

What cute rings! I have my wedding band and an heirloom ring I wear and I always feel a little weird wearing other rings on my other fingers because it’s a look I don’t think I can pull off! But these rings are so delicate…but I could!

    Glad you are feeling better!

I could not run on the track of the last cruise ship we were on unless I went super early in the AM (lol nope) – it’s right on the deck where everyone is hanging out and walking around and there’s just no room! I ran on the treadmill and it was kind of weird because of the rocking.

I hope you have a great time and get the RnR you need!

I’m glad you’re better, Kristina! I’ve never been to a cruise before so I don’t really know how I’ll feel running in one. I tend to get motion sickness in planes, so who knows . I still need to get on a cruise one day and I think I’ll choose that one just because of the Track, lol.

I’m glad you’re feeling better! Being sick really stinks! Frank and I spent our weekend hiking and at the Ogden Climbing Festival. There are some really fantastic hikes minutes away from my house, so we stayed close to home and still got some great nature time.

I’m such a terrible Floridian! I’ve actually never been on a cruise. I do get very sea sick on boats, so I imagine running on a cruise would not go well for me.

That would be weird to me running on a track on a moving ship!! Holy vertigo, lol!!!

    So glad you’re better!

I have never ran on a cruise ship before…actually I have never been on a cruise ship before. I’m sure it’s a lot different. Have fun on your cruise!
