Daily Grind

Hey there! All day yesterday I thought it was Thursday so I’m a little bummed today isn’t Friday. Isn’t it the worst when that happens? Ugh!

I vlogged yesterday – it’s just another day in the life video. I get a little dramatic at the end of the vlog, egged on by a post that Megan wrote earlier this week about trail running and the scary possibilities that runners have to think about:

I didn’t vlog after I got done with my run, but I ended up doing two easy miles. Have you guys downloaded the Garmin app update? The new design is flawless! I love it!

Mile 1: 14:01 (run/walk)
Mile 2: 13:18 (run/walk)
——————————————–
2 miles / 13:39 pace / 81*F with 70% humidity

The wind last night was absolutely crazy once again. Several times during the first mile I felt like I was getting pushed backwards, but during the second mile the wind was behind me and I felt like I was soaring back to my car. Several times I forced myself to slow down because I didn’t want to end a great run with any negative side effects.

When I finally got home this book was waiting for me in the mail:

I’m really into buying physical copies of books right now. For the last few years I purchased eBooks exclusively, but I guess I’m feeling nostalgic for the good ol days right now!

For those of you who don’t know, Tyler is a popular YouTuber and his book is a collection of short stories that he’s never told in any of his videos. If you’re not a Tyler fan the book probably won’t interest you since it’s a collection of stories about things he’s experienced, but if you do like him it should be a good read.

From what I understand Tyler touches on what it was like to come out, his battle with an eating disorder, what it was like to be in an abusive relationship and of course what it was like to become Internet famous.

Speaking of eating disorders, I’m going back to see a doctor about mine. I’m not quite ready to blog about it yet. I will soon though because I think it’s important to talk openly about mental disorders so that A.) people take them seriously,  B.) we remove the stigma that you have to be “crazy” to have one and C.) so that people suffering know it’s okay to ask for help.

Don’t worry, I am not doing anything to harm myself and I am generally really happy. I am definitely not binging/purging. I’ll try and write an update about all of this next week for those that are interested.

(Yes, it has dawned on me that I’m now in physical therapy and mental therapy. Story of my life!! I think this means soon I’m going to feel refreshed and renewed all around!)

And now I am trying to think of something funny to say because I don’t want to sign off on such a serious note…

k

Enjoy the rest of your day! 🙂

What was the last book you read?
Do you listen to audio books when you run?

Oh my word I almost spit out my coffee with that cat picture at the end of your post!!! I am glad you are going back to the doctor for your mental health and being proactive before it gets worse.

I am sorry my post scared you! I randomly get scared going into bathrooms too! But sometimes I just have to poop so bad that pooping is more important than being careful. 🙂

Isn’t that picture adorable?! I love it.

Hahah yes when you gotta go you gotta go!

Ha, that cat cracked me up! Good that you are in tune with yourself and looking for some answers. I hope all is well!
Thanks for the info on the Garmin app! I knew there was an update but hadn’t looked at it yet. Cool! Might take me a little bit to find some of the info, but I’m digging it so far.

I was so surprised by the Garmin update. I think it’s the biggest change they’ve ever made! I love it!

I’m glad you’re seeking help you know you need instead of trying to deny it or bury it. If your ED cropping up again is recent, do you think it’s related to having to go GF?

I love that cat picture at the end!

I had to use a porta potty o my run this morning in the dark, and I leapt back & shined my flashlight in to make sure it was empty! I do get a bit nervous about that stuff.

I drive 3 hours every day for work and I would die if I did not have an audiobook on me!

I think it’s a really big thing when you recognize that there is a problem and seek treatment. I’m glad to hear that you are doing that for your eating disorder.

By the way… I seriously love that cat!

I have been awful about reading lately. I have like 10 books sitting around waiting to be read.

I hope everything goes well with your appointment and thank you for being brave and talking about it <3

Reading “Girl on the Train” now and I have an audiobook “The Witness” to listen to. I actually got it for Chicago and then ended up not listening to anything during the marathon (no music either).
