Day in the Life: 8am to 8pm
Yesterday morning I woke up to the sun shining and
birds chirping Cecil yelling. He (normally) gets Greenies dental treats in the morning because you gotta brush your teeth every a.m. but I actually ran out of Greenies, oops.
While I poured myself a coffee, Cecil circled around waiting for treats that would never come.
He was incredibly indignant and let me know he was in SHOCK that there were no dental treats. How was he supposed to start his morning?
Seriously, look at his face, he’s so mad at me.
I apologized and then shamefully went upstairs to work knowing I was a bad cat mom.
Work was productive, but I feel like this week is totally dragging on. Every day I keep thinking it’s gotta be Friday … thankfully today IS Friday. I think this week has felt extra long because I’ve been extra tired.
Adam worked from home yesterday too so we went to Chipotle together for lunch. I always get a chicken burrito bowl with no rice, black beans, chicken and lots of mild salsa with guac on the side.
After lunch we did what any good (and guilty) cat parents would do, we went to Petsmart to get Cecil the treats he missed out on in the morning.
I was planning to buy one tub of dental treats and two bags of dried chicken treats (his fave) but the cashier rang up five bags of chicken treats by accident, so instead of having her take the extras off I just bought five bags. He appreciated the gesture.
So earlier in the day I had tried cold brew coffee for the first time and I kind of hated it. I really couldn’t even drink the whole cup. To make up for it we stopped at Starbucks and I got an Americano.
I actually need to buy a new coffee pot for home. I’m pretty sure my trusty Mr. Coffee is on his last legs. He’s been steaming up a lot and the coffee has tasted like shit… like really burnt. Is this interesting? Sorry for boring you with coffee pot chat! 😀
After lunch Adam and I got back to work, and then when 5pm hit we headed out to the park for a walk.
I’ll be honest, after I squatted 200lbs over the weekend my legs were SUPER sore for three days. They were feeling back to normal yesterday so I thought a walk would feel good. I don’t know why but my butt started feeling sore by the end of it lol! Honestly I can only hope this means the booty is growing into a nice bubble butt.
After our walk it was time to get in a workout. Adam was squatting last night and I wasn’t really into that so I just did his warmup with him. That included 75 squat ball throws to each other.
I’m not sure if that’s the proper name, but it’s where we stand about three or four feet apart and throw a 10lb medicine ball to each other, and each time we catch the ball we go down into a squat. It’s actually pretty fun!
We started out with 25 and then Adam said “okay another set of 25” and I said “why not 50?” If you can’t motivate each other in a relationship what can you do? 🙂
After the workout I sat down to blog and watch the Ruth Bader Ginsberg livestream… so here we are :).
