Deadlifting 275lbs, No Big Deal

Hey there! Over the weekend I did something that I honestly did not think was possible. I deadlifted 275lbs.

Getting to 265lbs was actually somewhat easy. If you watch the vlog you’ll see I even have a smile on my face when I lift 265. Adding that 10 extra pounds felt like 100 extra pounds though.

Adam said he could tell as I approached the bar for 275lbs that my mental game was off. He said instead of walking right up and lifting I hesitated a lot and even readjusted my stance.

Ah well, I cannot complain or feel badly about this one. I deadlifted 275lbs!!!! New goal is 300 :). I’m starting a new lifting workout routine that should help me get there. More details on that later this week!

    Congrats on 275! 4pm is late to workout! But you are used to that, right? Cecil is so tiny. How does he stay so little?

      Thank you! πŸ™‚ Yes, I always workout late. I honestly cannot imagine getting up as early as you do to WORKOUT! That’s so impressive. The only thing that can force me out of bed is work!

      Cecil is such a little peanut! He used to be larger. He was once up to 15lbs, but the vet said he needed to lose weight. He is extra small now because of the hyperthyroidism but mostly maintains 12lbs. He looks small when he’s rolled up in a ball but when he stretches out he’s like 20 feet long! πŸ˜€

    I wish I could be strong like you! So impressive! Do you have any suggestions for hamstring strengthening that are body weight/don’t require me to buy equipment?

    And to join in the tiny cat talk: Mitten is a whopping 8 lbs. I still call her kitten even though she is an old lady cat.

    Hmm do you have any dumbbells at home? You could do deadlifts with any weight dumbbells: Or if you have a medicine ball at home you could do hamstring curls with that! Those look easy but definitely work out the hammies! Megan would probably know more since she went through personal training courses. I mostly have no idea what I’m talking about πŸ™‚

      Mitten is a TINY baby! 8lbs!!! Cecil’s mom was tiny like that too, but his dad was a giant tabby! The biggest house cat I’ve ever seen. I’m surprised Cecil isn’t bigger!

      I don’t have dumbells, but I do have a medicine ball! I will definitely give hamstring curls a try! Thanks!
