Did It Again!

Guess what I did again yesterday? I forgot to pack running bottoms.

I realized my mistake while I was driving to work mentally running through my morning checklist.

Even though it was 88*F/31*C at 9AM I still knew I wanted to run outdoors in the evening. Just the thought of treadmill running right now annoys me, which is funny since I don’t usually mind it.

Even though I packed my lunch I decided I would go to Sports Authority during my break so I could buy a pair of shorts.

It was beautifully sunny yesterday making it perfect for a lunchtime stroll around the shops.

I popped into Sports Authority and found a cute pair of Under Armour Heat Gear capris on clearance for only $29. I love UA Heat Gear capris and they normally cost $45+. What a great deal!

I thought it was a great deal anyway. When I got to the beach at night I realized why they were on clearance. They have no pockets. ???

I had to hold my keys while I ran!

I could have put them in my Armpocket but when I have both my phone and my keys in there it feels heavy, so I carried them instead. I need to figure out how to add a pocket to these capris for future runs!

Instead of going back to my office and eating the lunch I brought I took myself out for a grilled chicken and rice bowl.

There was honestly enough food in that bowl to feed a small family! Each bit was really delicious.

Then it was back to work where I kept calm and carried on.

Before I sign off today I just had to share this funny post I saw on Instagram the other day:

Hahah!

I don’t listen to gangsta rap but I still thought that was funny. I have added a lot of Drake to my Chicago Training playlist recently! He’s hardly gangsta rap though :).

I wish I could listen to hip hop during training more because I like the bravado expressed in the lyrics (good for getting you pumped up), but for some reason I don’t like when women are called bitches.

How’s your week going so far?

Yesterday, I forgot a really important document at work and realized it when I was halfway home (1 hour commute). I was so annoyed with myself, but knew it would take as much time to drive back as it would to redo the document. I hate it when I’m forgetful like that! Glad you were able to find something to wear although the no pockets is a bummer.

Oh no, that is the worst! I’ve definitely been there before. I’m very forgetful so now I just have everything on my work computer backup to my dropbox so I can access stuff from anywhere!

I am totally ashamed at myself for some of the music I listen to lol!! That meme is hilarious. And those capris are so pretty!! Pockets are an extra special surprise when I have them, but I put everything in my spi belt.

Hahahaha I am too. Sometimes I listen to the clean version of songs, but sometimes I don’t. I’m really living on the edge here! 😀

Tights without pockets are the worst. Why, clothing designers, why?

I like to use rap as my metric for keeping my easy runs truly easy. Can I rap along with Eminem? If not, I better slow down.

OMG that’s awesome! I do the same thing, except it’s mostly signing along to Taylor Swift ;). Although these days it’s singing along to Drake!

Unfortunately my new favorite tights do not have pockets. They are primarily designed for yoga so I’ll give them a pass on that, and they’re way more cute and comfy than any running capris I’ve owned, so looks like I’m just gonna have to deal! I usually just put my phone in an armband or a FlipBelt (I used it during the Pgh marathon!). What I find most obnoxious that phones are so ridiculously big now that they won’t fit in any pockets – honestly that’s the only thing I really even need a pocket for! Gah!

You know, I have a FlipBelt and used to use it religiously. I don’t know why I stopped using it, I might need to break it out again for the days that I run with those pocketless capris! Thanks for reminding me I have a FlipBelt!

LOL that is so funny! “I’m selling dope in my head” HAHAHAH. I may steal that. 🙂

None of my shorts or pants have pockets! I tie my key to my shoelace or the drawstring in my shorts. But honestly I am afraid it will fall off!

Oh man, I would be so worried about the key falling off! When I held my keys in my hand I was clutching them with a death grip! I did think that if anyone attacked me I could use my keys as a weapon since I was holding them. But now that it’s light out so late and lots of running groups hit the pavement at the same time as I do it’s unlikely that I’ll get attacked. (which is good! I hope I didn’t sound disappointed!)

I love those capris but bummer no pockets. I only have to carry anything when I am not running in my own hood and I use a flip belt for my phone and keys. It works great and you really cannot even feel it. I love that meme because ‘so true’ but also why do people chat at the gym if you are wearing headphones?! Seriously, come on people. I had a lady try to chat w/ me while I was swimming! Swimming for crying out loud. Sigh…

    1. Kristina

What?!?!! So so so annoying that someone tried to talk to you while swimming. I mean that’s just bizarre!

You and Hanna just reminded me about how wonderful the FlipBelt is. I used to use mine every single day and now I haven’t used it in over a year. I switched to the Armpocket when they were a client of mine and haven’t gone back since, but I might need to for the days that I wear the new capris!

ha! I love how you are collecting a new wardrobe because you are forgetting to pack stuff. You need a little wrist wallet you can slip your key tag in 🙂 I always take my door thing off, and leave the keys in my car.
I love the meme! I have some stuff on my PL that would probably shock peeps lol

I thought about taking just my car key but my keyring is a bear. It doesn’t like to let me take keys off or put them on. I might need to buy a keyless entry car so that I can continue wearing these new pocketless carpis :D!

I’m just getting ready to order a FlipBelt for myself. My winter running bottoms had pockets for my phone but my shorts just won’t handle that. I never used to run with my phone, but now I’m getting used to it. Technically I’m getting a rip off Flipbelt from China on Ebay, but same difference, I’m hoping it works just the same! Saving me a few bucks. So I can buy a better hydration belt!

I bet it will work the same – it’s really just some thick fabric with a hole cut into the middle!

You guys all just reminded me that I have a FlipBelt I can use. I totally forgot about it … now I just need to figure out where I put it last! 😀

  9. Gus

Seriously the worse when we forget things at home! Even though I only commute 15 minutes my parking garage makes it looks like an eternity lol. The no pockets thing is hell which is why I do my best to limit what I carry on runs to just one key if I can 🙂

    1. Kristina

I was so shocked because UA capris always have a little pocket in the waistband. I must have looked a little crazy standing there with my hands down my pants reaching around searching for the pocket LOL!

That’s awesome that you can bring just one key. My keyring is insane and doesn’t allow me to take keys off easily (or put them on easily)! I need to do more upper body strength training if I want to tackle that thing! 😀

The capris totally match the color in your shoes. It’s always nice to give yourself an excuse to go shopping. I have actually intentionally forgot certain clothing pieces when I’ve gone on vacation so that I could go shopping once we got to our destination. Sneaky! ☺

I remember when I used to tie my car keys to my shoes during runs. Now I can’t even imagine that. I’d rather carry them, too!

Is SA not going out of business near you? Everything is on clearance here because they’re all closing.

The pattern on those capris is really fun! So many running pants, skirts, and shorts don’t have pockets or only have such tiny ones. I have taken to keeping a spy belt in the car so that I don’t end up having to carry my keys and/or my phone on runs.
