Drug Deals at My Desk

In just a couple of weeks I’ll be in the Caribbean soaking up the sunshine while running in a bunch of new-to-me places on a cruise. For now I’m thinking about investing in cough drop stock and praying that my legs haven’t forgotten how to run.

Yesterday at work I got a massive headache from coughing so much. Literally sometimes I cough so hard it feels like my brain is getting rocked around up there! (Is that possible? Is that a thing? Am I going to get a concussion?!)

My coworkers came to the rescue delivering all kinds of pain reliever medicine.

That money is there from a previous drug transaction that went down at my desk. The cold medicine kind.

At home every time I try to jump on the computer Cecil steps in and reminds me to rest.

He’ll just sit there on the keyboard opening new tabs with his tail until I get annoyed enough to go sit on the couch with him. He’s very demanding.

For those of you who have asked, my vegetable garden is more of a broccoli garden at this time :). The broccoli is the only thing that seems to have survived the wind storm we had a few weeks ago.

I think pretty soon he’ll be ready to be planted into the ground.

Gerald, one of my coworkers with a green thumb, said that during the summer it’s really too hot to grow vegetables here so I may need to wait for fall to try again. Tomorrow the high is 88 and Thursday the high is 90 so summer is basically here :).

Ugh. I am literally DYING for a run. I know I can’t run because right now almost anything sends me into a coughing fit. I may try to go for a walk tomorrow after work though.

I miss my routine of heading to the beach after work, and I feel SO BEHIND on my podcasts!

I doubt there will be a new vlog this week since I can barely string two sentences together without coughing like crazy. In the mean time you can check out last week’s vlog if you haven’t yet :).

I’ll talk to you again soon!

Sorry you’ve been so sick! That reminds me to the summer of 2015 when I was really sick and then had the worst lingering cough. I ended up getting an inhaler which seemed to help. Hope you feel better!

Oh wow! I wonder if I should go back to the doctor and get an inhaler. Sometimes I have to take deep breaths because it feels like someone is sitting on my chest and then I go into a mega coughing fit…. but then other times I am perfectly fine and don’t cough at all. I hate this cold!

Aww, get better. Hope you are feeling 100% before your vacation. Your blog title cracked me up!

Sorry you are still sick 🙁 Lingering coughs are the worst! But hey, better now than on your cruise right?

And what a bummer about the vegetable garden – here’s hoping you have better luck in the fall! I’m so excited to plant my garden. But I’m running out of time, I need to get on it quick!

I knowwww I was so excited for my vegetable garden! I’ve heard that tomatoes can grow through the summer so I may try for some tomatoes even though I don’t eat a lot of them. I’ll also look into growing some fruits for summer as well when we get back from the cruise!

  4. Lisa @ TechChick Adventures

It’s so crazy hot there already! Spring is finally arriving here in Ohio. Hope those cough drops and drugs knock out that coughing and keep you quiet! You’ll be cruising the beach again soon.

Thanks Lisa! I can’t wait to get back to my normal routine… and to stop coughing. I think Adam and my coworkers are ready to stop listening to me cough too! 😀

Oh man it seems like everyone is sick! I hope you are on the upswing and start feeling better VERY soon. Are you able to listen to your podcasts in the car? My current favorite podcast is about missing people, it’s called Vanished, I think!

I can but I can’t lol. I have very specific podcasts that I listen to in the car vs. specific podcasts I listen to while running. In the car I listen to: wrestling podcasts, home automation / home decor podcasts and a pop culture podcast.

  6. Denise @ An Academic Athlete

I don’t listen to music while I run, but my favorite current song in general has been Galway Girl by Ed Sheeran. I just love it. I enjoy the entire album, but that song really stands out for me! I’ve been listening to a ton of Freakanomics episodes lately. They are very well researched and put together.

I looooooove Galway Girl too! It was my favorite right off the bat, but right now I am really loving Barcelona!

  7. Ana

I hope you are feeling better soon! This tittle made me think of how we share our cold drugs at work too! My one co-worker keeps her desk stocked up with all the good stuff!

Hope you get better soon, Kristina!

Hopefully the vacations / cruise / beach will help you detox. To me, it always helps.

    1. Kristina

I think the cruise will definitely help! I am counting down the days :).

  9. Kerry

Feel better! That stinks that you are coughing so much that you can’t run. I hope it clears up soon so you can enjoy your vacay.

Lately, Up and Vanished has been my favorite podcast. If you’re into true crime, you’ll really like it!
