Eclipse Day!

Hey there, I hope you had a great weekend! Adam and I had a pretty chill weekend. I feel like I’ve been saying that a lot but we did have a fairly uneventful summer compared to previous years.

This time last year we were in NYC for NXT Takeover and Summer Slam, and the year before we flew to the Dominican Republic for a week. Something exciting did recently happen that I’m eager to tell you about later this week, but it’s not travel related. More on that SOON!

This weekend was extremely domestic. On Friday night I decided to strip the bed and put on new sheets — so I guess you could say it was a wild and crazy night.

Unfortunately I had left the clean sheets rumbled up in the dryer for a little bit too long and they came out wrinkled. Oh well, no one is going to see them but you, me and Adam. And Cecil, who helped to make the bed. Basically I put the sheets on and he tries to pull them off. It’s a fun game!

On Saturday Adam and I decided to take Cecil for a walk in the park. It’s been a while since we’ve taken him out because it’s so blazing hot all. the. time.

Adam wanted to practice his disc golf skills so Cecil and I parked ourselves in the shade to watch. Unfortunately after about half an hour Cecil started panting and I was melting so we headed back inside while Adam stayed out for a little while longer.

As for today, I’m looking forward to the eclipse! Supposedly in Miami we’re going to get 78% coverage at around 2pm. I think at work we’re all going to go up to the roof to watch. I want to shoot a timelapse… which I’m sure is the most original idea ever and 500 million other people won’t also be doing that :).

My coworker V got me a pair of the official sunglasses. They are honestly so crazy. You can’t see anything through them unless you shine a bright light right up to your eye!

It’s a little hard to tell in that picture above but I’ve hit the two week mark of having gel nails and they’re no longer holding up well. My real nails are starting to grow out so they have begun to peel.

I definitely want to get gels again. I like that they don’t chip at all. The peeling is annoying but it didn’t start happening for almost 14 days. I think I’m going to wait until after surgery to have them done again though. It’ll be a nice pick-me-up afterwards!

I hope you have a great Monday!

Will you be watching the eclipse today?

I didnt get eclipse glasses so I won’t be watching. I think we have 70ish % coverage here. I cant believe I left Charleston yesterday, and they are supposed to have almost full coverage!

Hahha seriously! Adam’s mom lives in NC where they are going to have total coverage. She said she’s so tired of hearing about the eclipse now, and tired of all the tourists coming into her little town, that she is excited for it to be OVER! haha!

I’m working at the hospital today but our team has a bunch of glasses and we’re hoping we can make it outside to see!

Ohhh yeah I bet you’ll get a really good view of the eclipse! It must be near total coverage or total coverage there right?!

  3. August 21, 2017 / 8:32 am

I’ll have a similar view of the eclipse as you, 80% here at 2:26. I have my eclipse glasses ready…now I just need the clouds to clear up a bit.

Oh no! I hope you were able to borrow a pair from someone!

We looked at the eclipse through one of those homemade pinhole boxes. Next time we splurge on the glasses. The glasses were WAY better for sure!!

I wish we lived closer and Paul and Adam could play disc golf while we walked Cecil. 🙂 Hey there is a new family of students at our school and their last name is CECIL!!!!! 🙂 I didn’t make plans to watch the eclipse but then my friend let me borrow glasses and dragged me out to the back playground to see it. I am so glad she got me to go out because I thought it was beautiful!

I bet Cecil was so happy you took him on a walk! You are good parents. I love your Friday night plans. There was a few weeks ago we were home on a Friday night and Rick cleaned our oven! Just wild and crazy on this end. We did see the eclipse. It was about 98% in Colorado and it was amazing! So happy I got to experience that. My sister was in Casper, WY where it was 100% and she said it was so cool and almost spiritual!
