Excited To See My Running Coach at Mile 9 of 13.1

NO running again yesterday. My knee was feeling a little bit stiff so I am giving it some TLC and resting it up. I really hope all this extra rest is helping it!

I wasn’t sure if my running coach was going to come to the half this weekend or not, but she emailed me to say she would be there. I am so happy! Whenever I visualize crossing the finish line I always see her there. She’s been such a big part of this journey for me.

I told her that I would really like it if she would hang out at mile 9 – that’s usually where I need a little extra motivation.

This will be me in just a few days:

I really think getting a running coach was the best decision I made during this training. She really helped make me a stronger runner. I think I could have prepared for a half on my own, but I don’t think I would be as ready/confident mentally or physically.

With all this extra rest time my mind has been going a mile a minute regarding Lilypad Candles (my candle company). It is definitely keeping me very busy!

Each time I pack a candle up to ship out to its new home I feel like I’m sending my baby out into the world! haha

I really think the biggest perk of making candles is that my home smells so good ALL the time. I’ve probably said that before, but it’s so true! : )

Have you ever had a running coach?

If not, have you ever thought about getting one? Why or why not?

I’ve had running coaches when I’ve been in running groups. It’s great to have the extra encouragement.

I love the scents that are popular during fall, too!

The extra motivation is really nice! Prior to hiring my coach I had only run a few 5Ks so it was really helpful to have someone reign me in. I was definitely trying to do too much on my own and she kinda dialed me back and had me focus on fundamentals first, which ultimately has made me a stronger runner.

I know I’ll get a coach eventually; maybe even next year when I give marathon training a second try. I can’t believe your race is this weekend. All your hard work is paying off!

I can’t believe it either! Ahhh!

Before I got a coach I really wondered if it would be worth it or not, but it has been *so* worth it!
