Finally Conquering a Personal Fear

I hope everyone had a merry and bright day yesterday spent with friends and family! I also hope you enjoyed cookies, pies and all sorts of delicious carbs that count as long run fuel or recovery snacks :).

Cecil had himself a very merry little Christmas:

In case you think I am totally nuts (I am), let me explain… Adam and I have no children in our family. There are no little cousins or nephews or nieces to spoil during the holidays, so of course all of the gifts go to Cecil! He’s the only baby in the family!

Aside from spoiling the cat, I’ve also been rocking a festive red lip the last few days. This is a big deal because for many years I would never wear bright lipsticks. I thought I was too ugly to wear them, but in 2016 I started getting over that ridiculous phobia.

This year I wore bright pinks all summer long and now I’m wearing red! I’ve always owned these colors and wanted to wear them, but I would put them on and take them off right before I walked out the door. Or I would get in the car full of bravery and then wipe off the lipstick before I got to wherever I was heading. But I’m over that now!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!!

Did you conquer any fears this year?

I LOVE that red! What brand/color is it? I got gift cards to Sephora and Ulta so I’ve made a list of lipsticks to get because lately I haven’t been wearing much makeup besides a bold lip. I’m just too lazy!

I’m glad you had a good Christmas!

Thank you! It’s Matte Confident by Milani. That’s exciting that you got Sephora and Ulta giftcards. Lately I’ve really been liking the Anastasia liquid lipsticks. They’re very long lasting!

You look stunning with your red lips! I always wear bright lipsticks–it’s kind of my thing. Would it be horrible to say my favorite part of yesterday was my very early, very quiet run? It was bliss. I do love the holidays and I do love my family but sometimes it’s just a bit stressful so the solo run in the dark was exactly what I needed to set the tone for the day and I knew that no matter what, no one could take away that joy from me! What was your favorite part of the day?

Thank you Susan, you are too kind!

I love that you love wearing bright red lips. You will have to give me a list of your favorites so I can try them out!

I am glad you had such a lovely and peaceful run on Christmas. Those are always the best! Hmmm what was the best part of my day? Probably watching Cecil opening his gifts. I love how much he loves his new carrot! And because he’s so obsessed with that one toy I can hide all the others and give them to him again at some point when he gets tired of the carrot! haha

First of all, you look beautiful in your bright lipsticks! I wish you could teach me how to do makeup. I know I need primer…

CECIL!!!! Okay, how much catnip was in that stocking? Now I feel bad I didn’t get my kitties anything….

Your makeup always looks really nice!

Oh there was a lot of catnip in there 🙂 There was a big package of it, but there was also catnip in both of the toys. The catnip inside the carrot must have been super strong though because Cecil went nuts for it (and he’s still going nuts for it). We also got him a couple of packages of cat grass that we’re going to grow … and those must have had a scent too because he put a million bite marks in the packaging haha!

Please go get Chrissy and Jelly a catnip carrot. I think it was $3 or $4 at Pet Supermarket and it is bringing cecil sooooo much happiness!
