First Day with Invisalign!

Hey there! Yesterday I finally got my first Invisalign trays. It feels good to be starting the journey since I’ll be wearing Invisalign for 2.5 years.

This week is my “getting comfortable” week which means I just have the trays on, but they aren’t secured tightly to my teeth with attachments. I get the attachments next week, and supposedly that’s when I’ll start feeling sore and uncomfortable for a few days.

For anyone interested, I vlogged my whole day yesterday from the time I get the Invisalign trays onwards.

On Tuesday night I spent a couple hours watching other people’s vlogs of the first day they get Invisalign and found it so interesting, so hopefully someone else can find my video useful.

I’m really excited to finally be on the path towards having straight teeth. I’ve always been self conscious of my mouth because of my teeth, but never thought I would get them fixed because I am so scared of dentistry. Like why would I voluntarily go to see someone who is going to put sharp objects inside my sensitive mouth?!

This year is all about doing things that will give me long-term health, wealth and happiness though, and Invisalign is going to be a big part of that! I’m excited to see the results as we go along. Supposedly you start seeing some changes within the first couple of weeks!

If you have any questions about what the first day was like lmk in the comments!

Cecil at the end of the video was so precious. Sleepy purring cats make my heart melt, love them.

Good luck with your invisalign! I had braces in middle school and part of high school and it was awful, but worth it to fix my very messed up teeth. And at least it was a time when lots of classmates had braces too. As an adult, I would much rather have Invisalign. My teeth have shifted a bit because I was not good about wearing my retainer when I got my braces off. Maybe I’ll consider something like this when I am not paying for grad school.

PS: What will you do for long runs? Will you be able to fuel with them in or will you have to take them out for the run?

OMG I didn’t even think of that!!!!!! I need to Google what other people do because that is definitely going to be a problem. If I take them out during my long runs I won’t have any time left to eat food the rest of the day! o_O
