I Ran 10 Miles! My First Double Digit Run!
I RAN 10 MILES!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot express how excited about this I am! I had one of the best beach runs ever:
Towards the end of my run I think I started getting a little dehydrated. Although the temperature outside was about 10 degrees cooler than it has been, the sun was absolutely BAKING my skin! Other than that I felt so good!
The bridge was a pain as usual but since it was up on my way down to the beach I got to take a little break. That felt kind of like cheating, but what could I do?!
Tackling the bridge for the second time at around 8.5 miles was really,really hard. I cursed a lot. I’m glad I will only have to cross it one time during the actual half marathon.
Aside from the bridge and the sun I felt like I was on cruise control pretty much the whole way. The first six miles completely flew by. I would hear my Garmin beep to indicate I had hit a new mile split and I was shocked each time that a full mile had gone by already. That’s THE BEST!
After I got home I sat down to write this post but Cecil decided he needed to lay on my arms, so post writing got delayed a little bit:
When Adam got home from playing racquetball we went to Jamba Juice and I got my favorite: Mango Mantra! This light smoothie (warning: it’s NOT light on sugar) isn’t on their menu anymore, but if you ask for it they will make it!
Sitting on the counter at Jamba was this little bell. I really was extremely satisfied with my smoothie but I always wonder if it’s somehow annoying to the workers when the bell gets run. I think maybe it’s a little degrading? I’m probably over-thinking it, but instead of ringing the bell I just told them how happy I was.
I then took a nice long nap and woke up feeling really great. Normally when I wake up after a long run my legs feel stiff and sore, but I feel 100% perfectly normal! I have no idea why but I’m really happy about it!
