Happy Friday & Happy Hardrock 100 Day! Hardrockers cross the starting line at 6AM mountain time.
As for me? Another 5 easy miles yesterday (well, 4.75 actually because some construction put me on a detour that cut my run short).

It looks like I have extra hair on the left side, but it’s just my pony tail showing up in a weird way : ) #selfie
Adam’s mom is in town so I had to go running a bit later than I normally do, and I was treated to a peek at the moon rising.
The run itself really could have been better. My left achilles is still CRAZY tight and it’s sucking all the fun out of easy runs. Also, 94% humidity is a bit high if you ask me.
Today I’ve just got an easy two on the schedule, but on Saturday I’ve got 12 miles with a fast finish so I really need my achilles to loosen up because I fully intend to NAIL that run!
A couple days ago I decided to change the header on my Twitter profile (@eastcoastk). The more I look at it this grey cat the happier I am. It was a good decision.
Oh yeah, and see that tweet up there ^^^ I have officially decided to run the Florida Storm Series.
I’m definitely doing the Fort Lauderdale Half and the Palm Beaches Half. The third race is still up in the air. I’m leaning towards the Sarasota half for a few reasons, chief among that that Ali will be there!
Alright guys, I’m off to obsessively follow the @irunfar twitter account while simultaneously stalking my favorite runners’ Instagram accounts… well, mostly just Scott’s.
Enjoy your Friday and allez Seb, the tough frenchman!
How many miles are you planning to run this weekend?
Do you watch Game of Thrones? Have you read the books? Would you recommend it?
Ahh too bad about the Achilles! Hope it loosens up. This weekend calls for 6 miles easy for me, but I think I want to do 6 on Saturday and 6 on Sunday since my base is around 10 already (I elected the BEG/INT training plan, but I think im in between the BEG/INT and INT/AVD). Wish there was just an INT plan.

Which plan are you following? Hal Hidgon?
Hope your run(s) go perfectly this weekend!
Happy Hardrock Day! Things are already underway and the twitter feed cant go fast enough for me lol. Love your pics of the beach. Yikes 94% humidity is just ridiculous. You are doing a great job running through that stuff. Good luck on the 12 miles, I know your going to kill it. Way to go on deciding to do the Storm Series, can’t wait to read all about it.
Tomorrow I’m trying the long run with our local running group so I don’t really know what “long” is going to be 🙂

Same here! I love all the picture updates!!!
Have fun on your group run this weekend!
I wish I could run that half with you!!! I looked at my workouts from this week and so far I only ran 19 miles! I am running today, but unless I do a long run (which I am actually due for) I am only going to have 24 miles for this week! I did a lot of lifting. That was the culprit! Totally worth it, though.

Register and come down to Florida! We can do the relay 🙂
I am hating running in the heat at the moment – it’s horrible and makes me grumpy haha.
I hope your Achilles feels better–have you tried rolling it? I have found that I cannot do flip-flops anymore without calf troubles. Sandals seem fine…
Great job toughing it out in the humidity!
I am supposed to run in a 5k tomorrow and then leave for a trip to see my sister and brother in the Midwest. Somewhere between a 15 hour car ride, 5k, etc. I am supposed to fit in a 12 mile run. Trying to decide between adding 9 miles on before we leave and then sitting in the car, or doing 12 after sitting in the car…should be interesting…
Hi. I have been reading your blog and enjoy it. Sorry to hear about the Achilles. Make sure that you are stretching and rolling it. Consider taping it when you are running. It’s easy to do ( there are instructional videos online) and effective. Compression socks or sleeves will also make you feel better. Just don’t push it too much.
Moving on… Game of Thrones is AMAZING. I read a book and then watched a season. Now I am holding at book 5. Martin is supposed to write 2 more books in the series. FYI – Book 3 is seasons 3 and 4.
Good luck with your run!!!!
Take care of that Achilles. I have had chronic problems with both of mine for MANY years – the flare-ups are never fun!!!
11 miles easy is on the schedule to run on Saturday. I also need to up my strength training, a little each day.
I only watch the Housewives of NY, OC.. I have yet to venture out to watch anything else on TV.
I’m not sure I could run in that high of humidity. Good for you!!!
Excited to hear about the 1/2 marathons you’ll be doing. I’ve decided to find one this fall. A marathon.. is too scary of a distance. I’m happy just following along with your training.. .
Oh no, that darn Achilles! keep rolling it and icing it hopefully that will give you some relief. I ran with a buddy of mine today for 7 1/2 miles. I’m taking a rest day tomorrow but I have a 14 mile run on Sunday. I’m looking forward to it but it’s going to be a hot one!
Go away Achilles pain!
And I need your thoughts on Decision 2.0
I think the SRQ half would just be amazing. But of course you already know that!
Kick that 12-miler’s butt!!!
well dang, what’s up with the Achilles? Hopefully it’ll feel better so you can nail the fast finish. I actually did a treadmill 10K today 🙂 It was boring but I did it lol Hope you enjoyed the coverage, I just got home going to see if I can find some info from the links you shared 🙂
Love following your blog and your progress. I feel your Achilles pain…It knocked me out of marathon training last year. I had the chance to run in Rome! Still went to Rome but only ran a half…So a full marathon is still on my list. Your blogs inspire me not to give up.
As for Game of Thrones…simply a must. Read the books AND watch the show. Both are excellent. My whole family is addicted…ok, yes…we’re geeks that way…but still really great storytelling.
