Happy Monday! This weekend I got in my last long run before the Princess Half. Twelve miles … eight of those miles were really easy… four of those miles were kind of hard.
That’s pretty typical for me. Around mile 8 / 9 I tend to run right out of my comfort zone and have to push myself to get the rest of the miles in. I just try to remind myself that it’s supposed to be hard. Hard work = progress is being made.
Over the weekend a friend and I got together to complete our costumes! I’m not going to show off my full costume until race day, but here’s a peak at it:
I’m really glad I decided to switch to a Sparkle Athletic skirt instead of the tutu. I really love the look of the tutu but I can tell that I wouldn’t love running in it.
Plus with this skirt I get to wear really cute Minnie Mouse ears. They are made of super lightweight material and made specifically for running. I love them!
Other than running and planning for the Princess Half Adam and I just kind of hung out at home with Cecil.
The big highlight of my weekend was probably Friday night when we walked to one of our favorite restaurants for dinner and then got frozen yogurt.
At the time I didn’t really think too much of the froyo (especially since they were out of my beloved peanut butter), but when I got home from my 12-miler on Sunday and remembered I had some left over … well that was pretty exciting. To be fair though, after running 12 miles the idea of eating almost any food is pretty exciting : )
…. Only FIVE MORE DAYS until I can finally give Adam his Valentine’s day gift. I seriously can’t believe I have been able to keep it a secret for this long! I’m so bad with surprises … but I think I can hold out until Friday….
Have you done your V-day shopping yet?
– I LOVE picking out Valentine’s Day cards. I read just about every single one on the shelf. A lot of them make me tear up right there in the aisle. I’m such a sap!
