Merry Christmas! Last night I went for a speedy 3.5 mile run on the treadmill. I did 400s since I’m still afraid of Yasso 800s.
I think I will try to do the 800s next week. I’ve got to push outside of my comfort zone!
Up until this point I’ve been telling myself I don’t care about my pace. I think that is because I didn’t think I was capable of running any faster.
Now that I’m doing speedwork I am gaining confidence in my ability to make improvements to my pace and I really want to see what I can do.
I’ve always said I am comfortable being a back of the pack runner… and I am, for now. Maybe I don’t want to be a back of the packer forever though.
Just some running things I’m thinking about in my free time!
As much as I love having time off work, I miss the structure of my normal routine. This always happens to me when I’m on vacation!
I am enjoying sleeping in though … and so is Cecil. He always grabs his back paw when he sleeps and I always take a picture of it because I think it’s the cutest thing. I must have 400 pictures of him in this position.
And also this position:
One of my friends always calls C “the cat with the old man name.” I know Cecil is not your traditional cat name, but none of my cats have ever had names like Fluffy or Mittens.
My first cat was named Leo after Leonardo DiCaprio. We got him right before my 12th birthday. The next year we adopted my second cat, which I named Timberlake. Yes, I had already moved on : )
When Adam and I adopted Cecil he picked out the name. We wanted something different, and I have to say I’ve never met another cat named Cecil!
How did you come up with the name for your pet?
Hope you are enjoying a day with your family/friends! : )
Do you say it Suh-seal, or Seh-sill? Either way it is a cute name! My first cat, Christmas, I named such because I love the holiday Christmas. I didn’t get him as a gift, and he was born on April Fool’s day, but he will always be Christmas to me! And then his little brother Jelly got the name Jelly because I just thought it would be cute to have a cat named Jelly. And he is SUCH a Jelly. Isn’t it weird how they live up to their names??? Have a Merry, Merry, Day!

We pronounce it Sea-sill even though everyone at his vet calls him Suh-seal!
Yes, they definitely live up to their names! Hope you, Jelly and Christmas had a great Christmas π
Go Kristina! You can knock out those 800’s Enjoy your progress, I need to do that as well:) Your love of Cecil is so sweet. I have Otto (shelter named him), Tweek (we named because he twitched all over), Baby(Girl and we couldn’t pick a name), Junior (because he was so small), Misty (her color silver like storm clouds), BooBoo (I don’t now he has a pink nose and it fits). I am done rescuing kitties now!

Awww what cute names! I would LOVE to rescue more kitties but Adam thinks Cecil needs to be an only child for now π
You show that speed work who’s boss! So proud of you!
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
Author
Thank you! π I feel exhausted and really awesome after speedwork. Really wish I had started doing it earlier!
I’m ready for speed work myself! One more week and it’s on the schedule!

I cannot wait to read about you BQing!
You sound like me…kind of a self-defeater. Like, if I say I don’t want to get fast, then it’s not disappointing when I’m slow. I love that you’re now looking forward to working on speed and pushing your limits.
Do you pronounce his name “See-sul” or “Seh-sul”?
Author
Exactly! I was definitely being a self-defeater … we need to be more self-encouraging!
We pronounce it See-sul but everyone at his vet pronounces it seh-sul. Maybe we’re doing it wrong?!
