Heat Advisory!

Hey there! Just wanted to pop up a quick update to say hi.

I’m chugging along over here. I started the week off pretty tired on Monday, not totally sure why, and I haven’t been able to recover. I’ve fallen asleep on the couch each night this week before my bedtime and I am waking up tired too. Just one of those weeks where I have to keep a cup of coffee nearby I guess!

^ Don’t worry, the coffee was gone :). I would not let Cecil drink coffee, he’s a nut already. He doesn’t need any extra stimulants to wake up from a nap and tear through the house at top speed!

(The cute cat coffee mug is available in my little online shop here of course!)

Yesterday morning I grabbed my to-go cup and headed out to my car right into a blast of heat. Turns out we are under a heat advisory in south florida because of a pressure system sitting on top of us. By 8:30am the heat index was already 103*F with humidity of 85%.

I believe it because I left the house at 6am and we already had a real feel temp of 93 and the sun wasn’t even up yet!

Luckily I think we’re going to start getting some rain and the humidity will break a little bit. When I went for my walk last night it was still blazing! Excuse the cut off left eye but it turns out my waterproof mascara on that side could not hold up to the humidity and when I snapped the pic I realized it looked like I had a black eye!

This sweaty betty got in two miles while listening to episode two of the Serial season two.

I definitely don’t think it’s as interesting as the Adnan case, and it’s sort of annoying to know that we will never know the truth. At least with the Adnan case you had the illusion that you could figure out who committed the murder and be of assistance…. even if that’s super unlikely.

Now insert here a bunch of words about how much I miss running and how walking is not the same. I am determined to increase the length of my walks though because I want to keep my time on feet up.

It would suck so much to come back to running and have sore feet from them just not being used to spending so much time pounding the pavement. Long-ish walks seem like the easiest way I can prevent that.

Okay, I’m signing off for now.  It’s 9pm on Wednesday and I still need to shower and make dinner!

Do you drink multiple cups of coffee or tea a day?

Ugh…that heat! I totally respect you for getting out in the heat. Yes, keep time on your feet. It will help so much! Only like 2 more weeks til you see the doc! I do drink a few cups of coffee (w/ chocolate almond milk) per day–but it’s all decaf. I rarely drink caffeine because of my Raynaud’s.

I know! I am counting down the days. I am also getting myself worked up about the test and I’m basically terrified of it but not enough to stop me from going. I’ve felt so weird the last month not really making any progress towards getting back to running. I’ll be happy when I’m taking action towards getting back to it again.

I only have a few cups of coffee a week now! At first it was hard, but now I am not missing it as much 🙂
I would love to walk where you are by the beach! That would motivate me and the heat is much easier to take.

WOW! I didn’t have any coffee yesterday or this morning and by this afternoon my eyesight was blurry and I had a headache. But then I made myself a cup of coffee and I instantly felt better. It’s honestly like a drug!

I tried Season 2 of Serial (I think I listened to two eps) but I just could not get into it! I was excited for it because I thought the topic was interesting. So I came in game, it just didn’t work out for me. I am currently about to do a puzzle and listen to Nancy Grace podcasts as I drink this one BIG cup of iced coffee.

Okay I know what you mea about season 2 now. I finished the second episode and it wasn’t nearly as good as the first. Now I’m not so sure that I like it anymore!
