I May Be Losing My Mind!

I spent lots of quality time with the treadmill this weekend. Seven miles on Saturday and seven miles on Sunday put me at 31 miles for the week. My first 30+ mile week in a very long time!

After I got home from the gym on Sunday I announced to Adam that I ran “dub sevs” this weekend. You know, double sevens. He was like “WTF please tell me that’s not a thing runners say?” Nope, just me :).

To be honest, Saturday was a real struggle for me. I just wasn’t into the run at all and every mile felt like it took an hour to get through. I was worried that the increase in mileage was causing me to be mentally and/or physically fatigued and that Sunday’s miles would be extra hard. It turns out that Saturday was just a fluke though and my Sunday miles felt fine!

It never fails to surprise me how mental running is. If your mind isn’t right, your body will fight you the whole way, but when you’re mentally ON running can make you feel on top of the world!

In non running news, I may be losing my mind! ? Here’s a conversation that took place between Adam and I yesterday:

Adam: I saw a min pin today.

Me: When did you get a Pinterest account?

Adam: ????

I thought that Adam saw pins of my favorite person, Mindy Kaling. As it turns out what he actually saw was a miniature pinscher, one of his favorite types of dog. THIS is what happens when you’re a little bit too excited that The Mindy Project is finally releasing new episodes TOMORROW! I’m so excited I can hardly breathe. Or think straight.

^ Yep, I’m still loving Snapchat!

True story: after I published ^ that pic to my Snapchat story I imagined the person I was speaking to replying with, “I don’t know, can you?” I’m sure I post a lot of grammatically incorrect things on this blog every day but to make such an egregious error is so annoying.

I once had a nightmare that Ali printed out one of my blog posts, took a red pen to it and then mailed the corrections to me! ??

On that note, I’m going to sign off before I can make any more errors!

Have a great Monday!

Best part of your weekend?
Most you’ve ever run in one week?!
EXCITED FOR MINDY TOMORROW?

Hahahaha thank you! 🙂 I’d try to make dub sevs a thing, but I think it would go over like fetch 😉

Haha I love that snapchat picture. I’m not on there but some of the pictures I have seen are so funny! Nice job getting in all those treadmill miles!

Kristina, I worry about the grammar on my blog too and I worry that Ali is mentally correcting it!!!!

I am glad Saturday was a fluke and Sunday felt better. Those damn treadmill runs can go either way for me and the only way I can make them fly by is if I do intervals. Yesterday I ran on the treadmill because Paul wanted to lift at the gym and it was just 5 la dee da miles and it was sooooo boring.

Hahahha I’m glad I’m not the only one worried about Ali grading my posts! 😀

That’s great to hear about Paul! Adam lifted while I ran on Saturday too. When we got home he asked, “Why do you treat me like everyone else at the gym? I want everyone to know we’re together!” Sorry dude, I’m all business at the gym! 😀 haha

Awww that is so sweet. 🙂 Next time slap him on the butt while he’s squatting. Then people will KNOW.

Hahaha!! You guys have some of the best-written blogs out there…although there ARE some I’d happily correct (or toss through a shredder tbh). But it cracks me up that you both share this fear…guess I have to live up to my rep and start proofreading my posts!

True story: my mom emails me when she spots a typo in my blog so I can correct it. We’re both English majors lol!

LOL that Ali nightmare is too funny!

Nice job getting in the miles! 7 miles on a treadmill is ROUGH. I did it once and it took every ounce of mental strength I had – it felt like I was on that thing for two hours! I’ve actually often had the experience of having a good run follow up a mentally tough run. Often times that first, harder run sort of breaks down a barrier so that the next day doesn’t feel as hard.

I did my one and only 20 mile training run on the treadmill!!!! Now that was something! I watched TWO MOVIES to get it done, haha! I was worried that I would get so bored running outside with nothing to distract me from what was to come. Watching movies definitely helped pass the time but the final five miles were still hell!

That snap chat pic is cute. I am sure we all post grammatically incorrect stuff as often as we wrote lol
Nice job on the 30+ week! I can not remember when I have been able to run that much. That is awesome 🙂

      Thanks Karen! 🙂

I just picture Ali going, “well, today’s post is an F if I’ve ever seen one!”

I love the dub sevs! I would totally say something like that!! Even though I don’t ever seem myself doing dub sevs. And your text w/ Adam made me laugh. Seriously, Kristina–hilarious. Most I have ever run in a week is like 25 miles or something! I know, crazy low miles I run but I just enjoy so many other things I really do “just enough” running to call myself a runner (ish) and get a bit of a boost but not so much my body starts to hurt (which these days is only like 10 miles total). I don’t like pain. Best part of the weekend was my hard core lifting sesh w/ my lifting partner yesterday. We had not been able to meet in forever so we hit it hard and my upper body is feeling it today!!

I am finally on snapchat, but am still just a basic user. I don’t know how to do all the fancy images and fonts that I see people do. Someday I will have time to learn. 🙂

I love when ambiguous conversations get mixed up. I’m sure Justin and I have had a few of those as well. It’s always funny to see and hear what people are thinking about and how they might interpret something ambiguous. Haha.

Best part of my weekend was finishing second in my 10K race and taking Axel up on the podium with me! Woot woot!
