I Almost Got a New 5K PR *Golf Clap*

This is what “wahhhhh I don’t feel like running” looks like after I actually get it done:

I’ve got a little bit of the crazy eye going on, it looks like I’m missing a tooth, my nose is a giant blob and it appears I’m bleeding above my lip BUT I am very happy here! I blame the Instagram filter for all the weird things in the pic. It’s definitely not me…. : )

Despite my *unique* face I almost snagged a 5K Treadmill PR last night! That was totally unexpected since I was pretty tired. Reading running blogs right before I went down to the gym definitely helped inspire me!

No froyo or giant chocolate cookie dessert thing yesterday … instead I ate my fruit:

I love fall and winter in Florida but I hate that all the melons go out of season – they are my favorite! Nothing like a fruit salad made up entirely of watermelon, cantaloup and honey dew!

I tried to get Cecil to eat a piece of cantaloup once but he had no interest. He is clearly no son of mine. Although in my next life, I would like to be him because THIS is the life:

In case anyone is wondering (which no one is), Cecil is working on his endurance. He can now do 8 laps around the kitchen before plopping down. I hold a treat out and make him chase me while we run in small circles : ) I think it’s fun, I’m not entirely sure he does.

Happy Friday!

What is your favorite mid-day snack?

Do you make your pet do any exercises?

Congrats on the almost PR! Cecil looks exhausted. I love me a big salad filled with greens and hard boiled eggs mid-day. I probably kill any benefits of it by smothering it in dressing but still so good!

Thank you! Mmm I don’t eat salads unless they have hard boiled eggs and cheese in them… also lots of dressing 🙂 This is a big step up for me though. When I was a kid I told my mom I couldn’t eat salad because lettuce made me choke and I couldn’t swallow it. I was very anti-lettuce.

I love fall/winter here too, but every peach I’ve had this week has been mealy. Stupid out-of-season fruits.

Archie loves cantaloupe. Maybe he’ll convince Cecil it’s worth a try.

Archie is a smart bird! Cecil is more of a beef jerky kind of guy I guess. As soon as he sees Adam with a bag of jerky he starts circling like a shark! 🙂
