Holy cow, last night’s run reminded me why I stopped squatting last year when I started half marathon training. Each step of my run felt like concrete bricks were being banged against my poor legs! DOMS sucks!
To take my mind off of my poor aching legs (I’m only being a little bit dramatic), I thought I’d put together a different kind of post. Here are some things my real life friends know about me that I don’t really talk about on the blog.
If we were friends in real life
… we would never meet for salads.
I’m not sure if this is just a blog thing or what, but it seems like women enjoy meeting at restaurants to eat overpriced salads. I don’t like lettuce, so if we were real life friends I would never meet you for a salad! (I would meet you for steak tacos.)
…you would be nervous in my car.
Not only do I yell at the other drivers a lot, but it seems like I am always on the verge of running out of gas. I usually roll into the gas station with a message from my car saying I have 2 miles to empty. The good news is I’ve never actually run out of gas! The bad news is I am literally always angry at the other drivers.
…you would find out how much “Beachbody coaches” annoy me.
Seriously, I feel like every single seriously unqualified person I know is now the proud owner of a Facebook Page where they call themselves a coach and give out unwanted advice. I know not every BB coach is unqualified, but in my experience there are more unqualified people than qualified.
From the Beachbody Coach FAQs:
“Do I need to be a fitness expert?” No, you don’t need to be a fitness or weight-loss expert to become a Beachbody Coach. You just need to be ready to commit to changing your life.
Cool. That’s the kind of coach I want to take advice from.
… you would own a lot of candles.
I’m always testing out new scents for my candle business and love getting feedback from friends! I’m hoping to debut a full new line in the fall just in time for the holidays.
… you would know that I currently have a pinched nerve in my left foot.
I did’t say anything on the blog yesterday because I didn’t want to cry wolf about foot pain again just for it to end up being nothing. I went to an orthopedic doctor yesterday morning because I had been having pain in one of my toes. It turns out I have a pinched nerve in my left foot.
The doctor said he would tell most people to stay off the foot for 7 to 10 days to allow it to heal. However, he said he has a lot of runners as patients and knows that not what a runner wants to hear. He said I can continue to run and won’t do my foot any harm, it just won’t heal as fast as it would if I took rest days. So… run on!
