The sun can feel warm and comforting like it did when Adam and I walked down to the beach on Saturday to check out the Memorial Day beach party and to grab some lunch.
But the sun can also feel brutally hot and annoying like when I attempted my long run on Sunday evening.
^ I’m only smiling because I had just given myself permission to cut the nine miler short with the promise to try again on Monday. (Hopefully by the time you read this I will have already finished that run strong!)
Since I don’t have very many good things to say about yesterday’s run, let’s just roll back to Saturday!
This was the third year in a row that Adam and I have gone to the Beach Party during Memorial Day weekend and every year it grows larger and larger!
There was live music…
Police on hand to keep the chaos to a minimum…

I know someone else who did his squats and had to foam roll the heck out of himself last night:
Cecil provided support during the rolling like the excellent personal trainer that he is.
Meanwhile, I’m over here just trying to figure out what I need to roll out to stop being sore for DAYS after pull-ups! Those guys get me every time, but in a hurt-so-good-because-I-know-I’m-getting-stronger kind of way!
By the end of this year I will be posting a video of me doing an unassisted pull-up! That’s my top non-running goal for 2015!
