It’s Been One Month Since Surgery – Update!

Hey there! I hope you’re having a great week so far. I’ve got a new vlog to share with you today from over the weekend :). I chat about how healing is coming across, do a little speed walk test and decorate for Halloween – you gotta check it out!

Also please click here to subscribe to my YouTube channel for free if you haven’t already! You’ll get a notification every time I post a new video (I posted this one on Monday) and it would mean a lot to me :).

My week so far has been off to a BUSY start. Work has been a whirlwind, which is fine. I would rather the days go by fast than drag on. Yesterday was the four week anniversary of my surgery, and I definitely can tell progress is being made.

I can ride the bike, do squats, perform calf raises, go up and down stairs and do all kinds of things without even thinking about whether it will hurt or if I need to be careful. The things that I still can’t do are jump, walk more than 1/2 mile or run without feeling a lot of sensitivity in my shins or developing soreness afterwards.

Soon I’ll be able to do all of those things though. I truly believe that once I hit the six week mark I’ll be feeling almost back to normal. Until then I’ll just keep doing my PT, stretching, icing and making daily progress where and when I can.

The day I can run again will be a beautiful day though. I can’t wait. Have I mentioned that before? Maybe once or twice?

Running the Jingle Bell Jog 5K this December (just for fun) is definitely on my list. Also my best friend, Barbs, just started getting into distance running so we may also do a 5K together sometime over the next couple of months. She also wants to train for a half marathon which I’m pretty excited about! More about that here on the blog SOON!

Okay I gotta run, have a great day and treat yourself to something nice. You deserve it!

Are you decorating for Halloween?
Will you dress up for Halloween?!

That’s so exciting that you are progressing in your recovery so well! The first time I went back to running after my stress fracture I felt totally weird, like I had no coordination! It was pretty funny.
I have not started decorating for fall or Halloween yet, but I will. It’s just too hot to think about that right now! But hey, I do have some of the decorations covered because of owning at black cat, and having 2 black foster kittens πŸ™‚
Love the picture of Cecil on your laptop!

Ooh I can’t wait to watch this! I will during lunch if my computer lets me. I am so glad to hear you are making progress and confident that you are still moving in that direction.

Okay I watched this at home with Paul! He loves the first lipstick and was floored when he heard there were actually iced coffee ice cubes. He has had that idea for awhile now!!! CECIL IS A BABY. Your decorations look cute. I love the cat ones. πŸ™‚

My dream has been to get a group of friends together and dress up like Britney Spears from all of her different music videos. I personally would love to be the “Oops I did it again” Britney and wear the red body suit!

Glad you are recovering well from surgery! Doing a fun 5k over the holidays seems like a great way to ease back into things.
