I’ve run 143.4 miles so far in 2014 + a Fun Weekend!

Happy Monday! I had a really productive day on Saturday, and a really relaxing day on Sunday which = the perfect weekend.

Saturday morning I got up early and went down to the beach to do a little photoshoot for the Spring Collection for Lilypad Candles (my candle shop).

I ended up taking close to 200 pictures and eventually selected about 20 of them to be used on the website. I think I did an okay job… I still have a lot to learn about lighting, camera settings, angles, post-processing etc. but overall I’m happy with how the pics came out.

After I messed around with the pictures for a bit I went for a run. My coach said to just do whatever felt right last week. I had it in my head that I wanted to do about 10K on Saturday but I ended up only doing a little over four miles.

Just not feelin’ it.

I’m still using my calendar to keep track of daily / monthly mileage. In February I ran 66.2 miles for a total of 143.4 for the year so far.

My goal is always to take just one complete rest day a week, but this month I only managed that one week. Hopefully I’ll do better in March, although I’m not stressing out about the eight rest days I ended up taking. A couple were during my taper and a couple were post-half marathon so it’s NBD (no big deal). I wasn’t just being lazy : )

On Sunday after I rolled out of bed at 12:30pm (yes, seriously!! haha) and walked down to the beach for lunch.

It was SO CROWDED! We realized soon after that lots of spring breakers are already in town. We saw a Michigan State flag and an Ohio State flag which pretty much confirmed our suspicions.

All in all this was the perfect weekend. I was productive but still got to sleep in one day, spend quality time with Adam and go running.

Are you tracking your monthly / yearly mileage?

Favorite place you went for spring break when you were in college?

– I worked a year-round, full time internship my entire junior and senior year so we never really went anywhere : (

I love the new layout! It’s so pretty!!

Ugh, spring breakers drive me nuts. It becomes impossible to go anywhere!

Props on the new layout, looks awesome. Sounds like a pretty great weekend, the pictures look great.

As of a couple weeks ago, I am starting track my milage both weekly and monthly. Of course I will add it all up at the end of the year. Favorite place for spring break, I have to say Colorado. I have done Mexico for the beach and Colorado for the snow, and for ME….I prefer the snow, it was awesome. Of course here in AZ I have sun all the time and never get snow lol.

I’m so with you. I would LOVE to see some snow this year! So jealous of everyone up north with their snow days 🙂

    Love the new look!!

I use Strava and Daily Mile to track mine. I prefer Strava, but most of my friends are on Daily Mile so I log it there too for the social interaction 🙂

Well now you LIVE at spring break! 🙂 I never went on spring break either… never had any $$ to do that. That’s some great mileage so far! I used to track my mileage but I haven’t done it in at least 3-4 years.

I always keep track of mileage! I’m such a numbers person. Love the pics of the beach too, it’s snowy here and the beach looks much prettier!

Great mileage so far this year! The beach looks so beautiful and hot! It was really hot here Sunday so I can imagine what your day was like. You rest days don’t look like enough to me lol…I only aim for four work out days a week, sometimes I’ll do an extra day,but right now while working on my speed I am sure that won’t happen. You are dedicated 🙂 I’ve never been on a spring break in my life lol actually I’ve never been to Florida! When my son was younger he went with his dad on a class trip and I stayed home.

Haha, well I only run about 5 days a week, 1 day is a cross training day and 1 day is a complete rest day…although obviously I tend to sneak in a second rest day pretty often 🙂

Your candles are beautiful! I hope the camera is doing them justice! One full day of rest is good, but can be a bit difficult once you are in the habit 🙂

Thank you!!! 🙂 When I was adding up my total for the year I thought about how it was less than your total for the month and felt like a slacker! 🙂
