Hey there! I’m still not feeling 100% but I do feel like I’m on the road to recovery. I was able to keep solids down yesterday. My stomach was still rumbly but at least it accepted food! I must have eaten something bad over the weekend… bleh.
August is off to a rocky start, but July was a great training month:
I ran over 65 miles, which is obviously my highest monthly mileage in forever! My long run reached 7 comfortable miles. The comfortable part is the awesome part :). My legs definitely felt tired after but reaching seven didn’t feel hard.
Overall I’m really, really happy with where my training is at right now. The only thing I’m worried about is my pace. I have some small goals for my races this fall, and right now in 100 degree temps it’s hard for me to even imagine what might be possible when the weather is more favorable. The only thing I am absolutely sure of is that if the races are brutally hot I’ll be well trained to complete them at a snail’s pace :D.
I know right now we are in the hottest part of summer and it will slowly start to get better in September. Is it the end of the month yet?
Also, I’m going to start decorating for Halloween on Labor Day weekend. I know that’s really early but I miss having holiday decorations out!
