June Running Check-in

I can’t believe it’s July already but I am VERY excited about it!

4th of July became one of my favorite holidays last year when Adam and I decided to make it an annual family vacation tradition to take Cecil to a hotel on the beach for a few days for the 4th. I was nervous last year but Cecil settled in so fast and loved people (and bird) watching from our room.

I’m extra excited for this week’s trip because it will coincide with my first time running at the beach since before my surgeries. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you know I used to run at the beach 5 to 6 days a week.

I have been somewhat avoiding it since my return to running because I’m nervous to run there again. This always happens where I get self-concious about running around people more athletic than me until I just DO IT and realize no one cares about me and what I’m doing.

June running  brought some normalcy, some race planning and some fun:

I’m looking forward to July running, especially getting back to running at the beach more regularly! I’ve also picked out my fall/winter races and pending my coach’s feedback will be sharing more about them with you soon… to be continued haha!

    With the hot temps we’ve been having here in Ohio, I always think of you Florida runners and wonder how you do it! I’m melting 🙂 Enjoy your 4th with your loves! That’s cool that Cecil travels well!

      Thanks Lisa, I can’t wait for tomorrow!

      OMG last night it was “feels like 100” during my run at 6pm. I thought about waiting until the sun set a bit more, but even at midnight the night before it was “feels like 93” so waiting until 7 or 8 or even 11pm wouldn’t have made much of a difference haha!
