Leg Trembling Workout

Hey there!

Yesterday I started my morning off the right way, with a nice strong coffee in my favorite mug:

Which reminds me of a funny meme I saw a couple of days ago:

This is a perfect description of my life. You don’t want to know how many pics of Cecil sleeping I have… but honestly, how could I resist?

I bought a new pack of makeup removing wipes for my gym bag the other day and they smell like heaven … or like a bunch of fresh coconuts :).

I was planning on using my new wipes to remove my makeup so I could run after work, but got a sudden urge to do leg day instead. I know my days of being able to go hard on leg day are limited with Miami marathon training right around the corner, so I am making the most of this in-between time!

  • Dumbbell Squat: warmup + 3 x 10 @ 100lbs
  • Lunges: 3 x 15 @ bodyweight, each side
  • Leg Press: warmup + 3 x 10 @ 240lbs + 1 x 20 @ 265lbs (<< I know 20 is a lot of reps, but the challenge popped into my head and I couldn’t resist trying)
  • Wall Sit: 5 x 1 minute
  • Planks: 5 x 30 seconds (while waiting for the rack to become empty… it never did)

If you want to be able to give your boyfriend/husband/partner a piggy back ride, this is the workout that you need to do! I can carry Adam halfway across the living room! I bet I could carry him all the way across, but usually after a few steps he starts yelling “okay, let me down, let me down, LET ME DOWN!” hahaha

… You can’t tell from this picture but my legs were trembling after that workout!

It’s funny but I actually think wall sits are the hardest of all the leg exercises! I mean it’s just sitting, logically it just shouldn’t be that hard! 😀

I’m definitely going to be sore tomorrow! Actually, scratch that, I’m going to be sore on Friday. It’s always the second day that gets me!

I hope you have a great day and an awesome workout today :).

How was your day yesterday?
Is your phone camera roll full of pics of your pet like mine is?! 😀
Favorite coffee flavor?

I take way too many pictures of Lily. I started a separate photo folder on my phone to keep them out of the way 🙂

Wall sits are so hard! That was one of the things I did for my knee rehab and I think they really did help with strengthening my legs. I actually had to start out with mini wall sits and they were still hard!

Lily is so photogenic, I am not surprised at all! She was born to be photographed :).

Wall sits are so hard, and there is no movement to distract you! So you are just hanging there like “pls let this torture end soon!”

Your leg workouts are quite impressive! I am excited if I do 110 lbs on the press machine 🙂 I haven’t done a leg/glute workout since about week 5 on my marathon training I think, due to it making me more sore than I need to be, but I’m looking forward to getting back into that stuff post race!
I don’t have many pictures of our kitten or cat because black cats just don’t photograph well! They just look like a set of eyes, without many details. Oh, and they are always running around so they are a black blur with eyes!

I’m sure that is true! Leg workouts are always the thing I put on the back burner during the latter half of any type of training!

Awwwww a cute set of eyes! 😀

I agree that wall sits are really hard! They are such a good way to practice squat form because its easier to make sure everything is lined up properly when you are against the wall. Great job with the leg workout!

Wall sits are just the worst! I think they’re particularly tough because there is no movement, so you just sit there watching the seconds tick away praying it will all be over soon! 😀

You are so strong! I really miss leg day. I keep saying I should try again and see if it bothers my ITB but I am just so afraid to aggravate it.

I wonder what it is about leg day that aggravated your ITB so much! You would think strengthening your lower body would make the ITB happy! Sometimes these things just don’t make sense though. Like how I can stretch my right hip so much that I don’t feel any tightness/tension when I’m stretching, but as soon as I sit down I can feel it!
