Let’s Play 2 Truths and 1 Lie!

Every once in a while Megan will do a 2 Truths and 1 Lie post on her blog. Today I thought I would jump in on the fun! Instead of doing just one set of 2 Truths and 1 Lie I’m going overboard and doing three different sets! See if you can pick out the lies!

Childhood Edition

1. I went to a private Catholic school that did not teach evolution.

2. My favorite priest growing up was accused of molesting a young boy and resigned from the priesthood.

3. I was in the Girl Scouts!

Answer: It’s a LIE that my school didn’t teach evolution. My school taught both evolution and creationism, although we were expected to believe in creationism.

College Edition:

1. My freshman year of college I failed my Public Speaking class.

2. My senior year of college I was vice president of the American Democracy Project, a club focused on ensuring college students are informed and engaged when it comes to politics and their own communities. In fact, my minor is in political science!

3. It took me five years to graduate with my BA but I graduated with honors!

Answer: It’s a LIE that I failed my Public Speaking class. I actually love public speaking and ended up taking three different public speaking classes throughout my undergrad studies. Then during grad school I taught Public Speaking to undergrads!

Relationship Edition:

1. When I first met Adam I told him I wasn’t looking for a relationship. Sorry, bud.

2. As soon as I moved in with Adam I asked him if we could get a cat!

3. Adam is four years older than me.

Answer: It’s a LIE that Adam is four years older than me. He’s only two years older than me!

Your turn! Leave me a comment with 2 truths and 1 lie so I can guess!
Were you in any clubs in college?

This was fun! I got that Catholic school one wrong (never knew your were in Girl Scouts!) but I got the others correct. 🙂 I always wanted to be in Girl Scouts but my mom wouldn’t let me. It turned out for the best because I ended up in piano, voice, and performing in musicals, which involved a lot of running around for my parents!

Would you believe that as an education major, we never had to take a public speaking class!? Kind of crazy…

I was involved in ZERO extra curricular activities in college! I auditioned for the musical my freshman year but didn’t even get a call back. IUP had a really good music and theater department so there was a lot of competition. I was sad and homesick through a lot of college so I spent a lot of time in my room. I was in several choirs but they were required so I am not sure they count as clubs?

    Two Truths and a Lie:

    1. I have zero cavities.
    2. I cancelled my dentist appointment for today partly because I have a head cold and partly I just don’t feel like going.
    3. I wore braces for 3 years and it suuuuuucked!

I don’t know if being in Girl Scouts was healthy for me. I was super competitive and had to have ALL THE BADGES before everyone else. I would literally spend all weekend working on badges and thinking of nothing else because I wanted every single one. I probably should have channeled that energy into something else! ?

Having heard you sing in a couple of videos I am so surprised the musical people didn’t call you back! What were they thinking?!

Hmmm your 2 truths and 1 lie set is hard! I am going to say #3 is the lie. I can’t imagine you wearing braces, but that could just be because I’ve only known you as an adult!

You are correct! No braces!! Of course I feel like we grew up in a time when not evertyyyone had graces. Now dentists are so braces happy.

I can imagine you as a competitive girl scout!

I was thinking about how you went from public speaking to doing vlogs and then I realized that was the one you made up! 🙂

So your priest really got in trouble ?! This game always confuses me LOL My best friend growing up was Catholic and we used to sit and discuss what to make for confession LOL Ummmm, the truth?? never crossed our minds.

I love shooting and i am pretty good at it.
I never saw a beach until I was high school.
I got my drivers license at 16.

I don’t think my former priest got in trouble with the church. He resigned from the priesthood before they could evaluate his behavior. It wasn’t released whether he pleased guilty or not in court, although one would assume he was guilty since he resigned. I don’t think legal action was ever taken against him. From what I read online last night the accuser just wanted the information to come to light so that no one else had to suffer the abuse he had.

Hahaha that’s so funny about confession. I was TERRIFIED of confession as a kid. I thought having to confess disobeying my parents was enough to send me to hell! Every week when we would go to church and I had to dip my hand in the holy water I would say a little prayer that my hand didn’t burn off because I thought I was the worst kid ever because I might have talked back to my mom once that week. When people talk about being a God fearing I’m like … I can relate! haha

Hmmm I would say C is the lie? I know A is true, and I hope B is true too!!! 🙂

        C is the lie 🙂 I did’t drive until 21 LOL
That is so sad you were scared but I totally relate. I think a lot of had that concept of fear as kids.

OMG that truth about your priest is so sad. I recalled you went to catholic school so that lie totally tricked me.

I liked how you separated this into three parts of your life/categories!
