Lots of Running Thoughts!

Hey there! I’ve got a new vlog today with A LOT of thoughts about my running progression so far, how I’m feeling about the 5K later this month and everything else.

Also, I went for (and got) a new one rep bench press max! Bench is my hardest lift and the one I most want to avoid each week, but it’s time to start chipping away at some upper body lifting goals.

Right now I feel like my fitness is really well balanced and I’m liking that A LOT. It’s nice to do something different every day; I never feel bored, and more importantly I always feel challenged.

    Sorry you aren’t feeling confident for your 5k. I think holding off until April is a good idea. I would want my first race back to be a celebration of how far I’ve come since diagnosis/surgery…not a reminder of how much fitness I had lost. I would want to be toeing the line feeling confident and excited, not doubtful and nervous (which is how I’ll be feeling at my half marathon this month 🙁 )

      You phrased how I’m feeling perfectly. I want it to be a celebration not a reminder of how much fitness I lost. That sums it up perfectly!

      I’m sorry that you think you’ll be feeling doubtful at your half. If you go out easy and stay true to your plan for using the race as a fun run, I hope your mind can settle in and enjoy the morning. If it’s really stressing you out, follow your gut, and defer to next year. You know your body better than anyone and you know what’s right for you!

    You have a good attitude about your race – it makes sense to come back strong and be happy about it, not concerned about it. There will be 5K’s a plenty! Very cool that your workouts are progressing too. I never really thought about weight lifting having a “plan” before. I find that very interesting! I am also enjoying seeing your workouts. I like to see what proper form looks like and it gives me ideas on new exercises I might like to try. Keep it up!

    You can do it!!
    Try not to be overwhelmed by the end goal!
    Just break up your training into easier to manage parts and remember to reward yourself occasionally.
    We’re all behind you!!!
