March Was a Low Mileage Month, 200 Miles for the Year

April’s here and The Mindy Project returns today! (<<< Sooo excited about this).

From a running perspective, I’m pretty glad to be leaving March in the dust. While I made sure to get in quality runs each week, I also didn’t run very much. My total for the month was only 57 miles (!!!!) which brings me to 200.4 for the year.

The days colored in orange are days I worked out (running or cross training), and the days in white are complete rest days. Yep, there are way too many white days.

One reason I am happy that March is over is because I think this kitten looks really sad and that makes me sad. I may be crazy.

I definitely plan on fixing this situation in April and getting back into my regular running routine which includes lacing up my shoes at least 5 days a week.

The good news is I didn’t skip out on any of my long runs … that’s pretty much never going to happen since the long run is my favorite run! : )

In other good news my Brooks shipment came the other day, so now I have a shiny new pair of Adrenalines and a pretty new headband!

And in OTHER good news…. my candles are really pretty! #NotSoHumbleBrag

I gotta say, it feels good to be turning the page on a new month. March was okay, but I think April is going to be great!

How many days a week do you like to run? How many miles per week/month?Β

– Up to this point I have felt best the months where I ran 5 to 6 days a week and ~80 miles a month

Any specific running goals for April?

– Incorporate new speedwork into my routine!

I don’t usually worry about my total monthly miles. If I’m training, I follow a plan. If I’m not, I run when I feel like it. I think 200 miles for the year so far is awesome! Great job!!

I only have 2 weeks and a day of March’s miles that I can find–52 miles for those days…I am working on tracking/logging in workouts in a more organized way…I found those weeks because they were on the same sheet of paper. I really need to use the computer for it…
Happy April! It is going be a great month–
200 miles for the year, awesome!

I just closed March as well, could of been worse but I am totally looking forward to April. I try to run 6 days a week with 1 complete rest day. Last month I was shooting for 20 miles per week which would be about 80 miles for the month. Fell short of that. So April is going to be 25 miles per week and 100 miles for the month.

I would love to get back up to 30 miles a week!

Great job getting the long runs in!
I’m going to try and keep my mileage up for April because I’m getting ready for a big race in May but then I plan to scale back for awhile!
    Love the new headband!

I thought the cat looked really sad too, then I saw your comment and couldn’t help but laugh. We all need March-type months to give us a little perspective – now you have lots of room to grow, right? I have a feeling that April is going to be a good month for a lot of people, if for the sole reason that it will hopefully get warmer so that we can all be happy outside! πŸ™‚ I thought that brooks headband looked familiar – I have a jacket with that pattern (but black, white, and grey).

You still had a great month! I love the head band, I think the vest I got at the expo matches πŸ™‚ I usually set my goal at 70 miles a month. Some months I just make it and sometimes I go over…March was 92 which surprised me because my race week I only ran 10.5 mi lol I may lower my mileage expectations this summer, the heat is already getting me down a bit and my half is not until Nov.
