My Current Skincare Routine (Water Based)!

Hey there! Today I thought we could chat about skincare.

I have super sensitive skin, annoying eczema and a very oily t-zone. A couple of months ago I went on a mission to change up my skincare to find products that are right for me. I’ve finally found a combination of products that I love and thought I would share them!

This video is definitely not sponsored. I paid for everything with my own hard earned money and am sharing my honest review, as always! If you’re interested in more honest reviews, vlogs and Cecil videos please subscribe to my channel – it’s free to do and means a lot to me!

Products mentioned:

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Gel Cleanser

Pacifica Glow Baby Youthful Scrub

Pacifica Sea Foam Complete Face Wash

Pacifica Wake Up Beautiful Overnight Mask

Pacifica Cactus and Kale Renewal Lotion

Pür Soak It Up Moisturizer

Mario Badescu Aloe Facial Spray

It’s really hard to believe that back in my teens and early twenties I had perfectly clear skin. I still had oil control issues but back then I never had acne, dark spots or eczema. I definitely feel like I took that skin for granted! Especially because I didn’t use any skincare products. I literally washed my face with water and that was it (omg).

I recently learned that with skincare and makeup there are two types of products: silicone based and water based. I’ve started making the switch to all water based products, so that’s what you’ll see in the video.

Water worked for me before and it seems to be working for me again! I have read that water based products are best for combination/oily skin, which is definitely ME. Also, since I made the switch I haven’t really had an eczema breakouts to speak of. Some days my skin is a bit red on my cheeks, but it hasn’t been bumpy, itchy or anything like that.

The only truly annoying thing I have going on with my skin right now is a skin tag on my right cheek that just will not go away. I’ve never had a skin tag before so I’m not sure how long it’s going to stick around but it really needs to see it’s way out asap!

I’m honestly not sure if I use water based products, but I think I do. My skin care routine is very simple, but I make sure I always wash my face at night and remove my makeup before bed. I used to have acne in my early years, but now my only concerns are wrinkles. Yeah for getting old, right? 🙂

Hahaha I hear ya! I don’t have any wrinkles yet but I am all about taking preventative measures!

I just checked, most of my products are silicone based, but I have dry skin so that is probably why they work so well. I’m glad that you have found a routine that is working for you. My routine right now is very non-glamorous…nothing can be scented or have essential oils or anything like that (basically, no Pacifica for me). But if your eczema ever flairs up I can recommend First Aid Beauty moisturizer. It has worked so well on my very sensitive rosacea skin and is labeled as being eczema friendly (and vegan and cruelty free!).

Skin care is very much individualized, so feel free to disregard and keep doing what works for you, but I’ve read that walnut scrubs can be damaging on your skin and cause micro-tears…though to be fair, this does not appear to be backed by scientific evidence. So…I’m not sure. Just passing it along as an FYI.

I just recently heard of the First Aid Beauty brand but haven’t seen or heard many reviews for the products. Thanks for the tip, I’ll definitely check the moisturizer out!

I wash my face with Dollar General facial cleanser in the morning and at night. I have acne but I am skeptical that anything will work! The DG brand has the same ingredients as Neutrogena so I don’t see why I should pay more money for the name brand when it’s the same thing. I tried Proactiv but it made my skin REDDER and way more gross.

Though I don’t understand much about makeup, I must say that I’m impressed with how you post on your blog. Running and hiking has always been a hobby of mine and it feels so great to stumble upon a blogger with the same passion. Heartiest congratulations with what you’ve accomplished so far!

Many more to follow I hope 😀
Take care, and hit me up anytime on my blog if you’re available.
