Yesterday was the first time this week that I ran down to the beach! That is how you know I’ve been having a weird week.
It was good to be reunited with those awesome crashing waves. The wind was crazy though – the sand was stinging my skin it was flying at me so hard! I didn’t mind though because I’m always so happy at the beach!
I guess I am learning to run faster because I went out just to do four miles at an easy/comfortable pace and each mile ended up being about 25 seconds faster than my normal comfortable pace! I wasn’t even trying.
In fact, I didn’t even look at my Garmin during the run (and I couldn’t hear it beep because I had my earbuds in).
I guess this is beginner’s “luck” with speedwork where I’ll make quick improvements at first. I’ll take it : )!
Even though the weather was in the low 70s and windy, I still worked up quite a sweat. I think maybe I have that excessive sweating condition?
My earbuds are in but I wasn’t listening to music. I actually listened to a show through the ESPN app on my phone. I really liked that and I think I’ll be doing it a lot more in the future! (Go Dolphins / Go Heat)
My hair has been SUPER crazy lately. I am in bad need of a haircut and I fear that I have a thousand split ends. My hair dresser is not going to be happy with me.
… Guess what day today is? One week until my winter vacation at work begins! Let us begin counting down the days. I really need this time to refresh my mind for big things in 2014!
Have you started thinking about your resolutions yet (or do you think resolutions are lame)?Β
I love that speedwork begins to improve pace almost immediately because it shows your body what it’s capable of.
I make resolutions every year. I’ve only ever kept them when they’re about running! This year I’m bullying Matt into making a resolution too haha.

Same here! I’ve tried to make resolutions about other things but they never work out. I think last year I said I was going to spend less money online and I’m pretty sure that didn’t happen, haha
I think we should make resolutions in January, but we should also make them in June. June should be called “national accountability month”
congrats on the instant improvements!

Thanks Bryan! I think National Accountability Month should also come in February. I notice every year that the January crowding in the gym tends to go back down to normal levels around then π
You look like you had a great run! I need to work on my speed work. Motivate me! Its so intimidating.
I get sweaty like that too lol It’s still pretty warm there! I ran in 40 degrees ansd it felt warm. Must be very cool to run by the beach π
