My First Run in 2014 Was Kind of Amazing
Yesterday I did my first run of 2014 and it was kind of amazing… actually it was spectacular! I was cruising and even though it was kind of hot/humid I was really FEELING IT. Aren’t those runs the best?! It was only four miles but I was pretty pleased.
11:40 … that’s fast for me guys! : )
I made my first post-run smoothie with the new blender yesterday (the Ninja Ultima Plus) and it came out so delicious. What I really, really love about this blender is that it comes with three single serving cups that you can blend with instead of dirtying the whole pitcher!
You just pop the single serving cup right on top and that’s it (it comes with its own blade)! You can then drink right from the cup once it’s all blended like 2.2 seconds later.
I’m not one of those people who really follows recipes to a tee or uses precise measurements, so sharing the recipe could be kind of tricky:
Mango Pineapple Smoothie
~ 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt
handful of frozen mango
handful of frozen pineapple
6 ice cubes
Mmmmmmmmm it was really good : ) I’ve made this similar recipe before but with the addition of orange juice and that was also really good. The OJ makes it a lot sweeter though and I prefer this less sweet version.
Who wants to come over and try one of my smoothies? I feel like you need to try one to see exactly how smooth this blender makes the smoothies. It’s really the best! (Thank you to my mom for the awesome gift!)
One important task was taken care of yesterday: I took down the old calendar and put up the new one.
I really liked this cal from the WWF. Each month it presented two new facts about a different type of big cat. I would have bought the 2014 version but my mom gave me a calendar for Christmas.
Cecil is pretty sure he’s cuter than this kitten.
Man, I really can’t believe it’s 2014 already! On Facebook all of my old HS classmates are talking about our 10 year reunion.
Do we really need one? I mean, we are all connected on Facebook so I kind of know what they’ve been up to.
The only reason I think I would go is to see my old gym coach and tell him I can now run a mile without crying.
Did you/are you planning to go to your 10 year HS reunion?
If you went, what was it like? Fun? Kind of annoying? Awkward?
