My Fourth of July Weekend Included Running & Eating Cheesecake (#awesome)

Happy belated 4th of July!

My mom came into town on Wed. night and just left a few minutes ago. I got all of my normal runs in but at fairly random times. I am definitely looking forward to getting back to my normal schedule, though I’ll miss my momma.

We didn’t do a whole lot, but we did have fun and ate a lot of yummy food including this ah-mazing Reese’s Peanut Butter Cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory:

And this veggie and hummus plate from Oasis Cafe, one of my fave restaurants on Fort Lauderdale beach:

I tried a raw carrot for the first time since I was about 10 years old. I can confirm that I still don’t like raw carrots (though I do really enjoy them cooked).

We shopped, we went to see The Heat (if you like Miss Congeniality, you will like The Heat), we looked at kittens for her to adopt (her 14 year old kitty just passed), we BBQ’d with Adam’s dad, we caught up on all the town gossip and took a lot of naps. All in all it was a good time and I’m looking forward to seeing mom again next month for my birthday.

On the actual Fourth I got up at 4:30am for a 5K out in Weston. My cheer squad unfortunately didn’t roll out of bed until right before 6am and the race started at 7am! Ahhh! But that is for a different post, this is a stress-free post :)!

Hope you all had a great long weekend too. What did you do? Did you race? BBQ? Go shopping?

Both were soooooo incredible. I’d love to relive all the good food I ate with my mom this weekend everyday haha
