My New Life Goal

If you follow me on Snapchat (@KristinaRunning) then you already know I have a new life goal. I really want to learn to enjoy plain Greek yogurt. I feel like it’s an acquired taste and I’m going to acquire it.

I already like the tangy flavor when I mix it into smoothies or when I cook with it, but eating a bowl of it on its own is just awful. I am really committed to this new goal though. I am going to eat a small amount each night until I get used to it. Last night I ate two spoonfuls!

This is not going to be easy but I am going to do it. #DreamBig

If you want to see the other things I bought during my latest grocery shop check out my vlog from over the weekend. And don’t forget to subscribe :).

So you know when I was buying plants for my house I made sure they were all on the ASPCA list of non-toxic plants for cats, right? Cecil isn’t into eating plants, he just ignores them and cries for treats. Georgie, on the other hand, is apparently mega into eating plants.

My poor tree seems to be dying anyway. I don’t know why, it was seriously all green just a week and a half ago. I honestly think something is in the air because all the trees are dying outside too. Is this seriously a thing that happens in the spring?

Georgie doesn’t care that the leaves are dying. He likes the extra crunch!

I got in a nice four miler after work yesterday :). It was really warm and humid out. I need to get back to running by the beach so that I can feel that ocean breeze! The reason I haven’t run at the beach this week is because my resident parking pass expired and it’s expensive to park there … like $1.75 an hour. I know that isn’t expensive in the grand scheme of things but I don’t want to pay that just to park when my resident parking pass costs just $25 per year!

The pass came in the mail but a signature is required so I need to try and get to the post office when it’s still open. Hopefully I’ll get there tomorrow on time!

^ Oh darn, is my halo showing again? hahaha

Ah, I gotta run and go eat some plain Greek yogurt. Talk to you again soon!

What’s one non-running goal you’re working on right now?

I dont eat just plain greek yogurt either, but i do like it with some fruit added! Like you, I can have it in smoothies and don’t taste it. Good luck with learning to like it!

Maybe try adding some fruit and granola to it? Or try vanilla flavored greek yogurt instead?

When you mean learn to love plain Greek yogurt, do you mean learn to love it without any toppings? To make mine taste good I have added fruit. Peaches is my fav but grapes and berries are good too. I have also put a spin of sugar free strawberry jam initial and mixed!

This is too funny 🙂 I just switched to Greek yogurt this year. The stuff used to make me gag, and everyone in my family hates it. But, I discovered Dannon Light and Fit Greek yogurt (thank you Sam’s Club sample lady!) and thought it was really good. The pack comes with coconut, strawberry & lemon flavors. Yum! I can get into that for sure, but plain Greek yogurt? I haven’t acquired that taste quite yet! Good luck!!

For you to like plain Greek yogurt I have a recommendation: mix it with some salt and olive oil, and eat it as a dip with pita bread. You have to make sure that he yogurt you’re using has absolutely no sugars added.

This is a Lebanese recipe that I’ve been eating since I was a little kid, and I think this is the reason why I’m able to eat plain Greek yogurt just like that (and being able to like it just like that).

If after this recipe you still don’t like it, don’t be too harsh on yourself. I don’t like sweet potatoes that much even though I want to love them. So I just decided to surrender to the idea of not eating sweet potatoes as much as healthy people does.

Wow! that’s a great goal! Are you trying to avoid the extra sugars?

The only way that I can imagine eating greek yogurt without sugar, would be as tzatziki sauce. I make it at home, and I could just eat it straight this way!

lol, love it! ps…. i started marking my own greek yogurt, tastes so good!

After seeing how much sugar is in yogurts, I switched to plain Greek for awhile because I could control how much honey or toppings I was adding. But then it ended up being inconvenient to pack for work…so I went back to the pre-flavored kinds 🙂 Good luck on your life goal! haha
